As I mentioned above, I was using the short code method, when the plug-in was updated, the menu started appearing twice or even trice. It is random.
I checked the integration method, I made sure the automatic integration is disabled, but whenever I use the shortcode, the menu appears twice. One menu is responsive but buggy the other is not responsive.
Now to doublecheck that no other integration method is switched on, I deleted the shortcode ([groovy_menu]) and there was no menu at all on the page. Adding the shortcode again, results in double appearance or even triple. It sometimes even changes (from 3 to 2) when I update the page (e.g. F5).
If I use the automatic method, it works fine and only one menu appears. The problem is that I want to manually set on which pages the menu appears.
I changed back to shortcode integration now so you could check it.
