LearnPress support team confirmed the bug and kindly provided update with the fix. Here is their reply

The issuse from code hook search key word on taxonomy of LP, it make query of Woocomerce not return post type wp_template, code of Woocomerce, when term null, it return WP_Error, but them not check to stop it, still runs make error.

Ah, that’s great you confirm the issue. It seems like something in LearnPress triggers wrong template part selection in WooCommerce plugin. I’m not sure what exactly but definitely there is a plugin conflict between LearnPress and WooCommerce.

Sorry for not being clear enough.
Yes, I tested on PHP 7.4, PHP 8.1, PHP 8.2, and PHP 8.3. The only difference is that in PHP 7.4 only a warning appears. There is an error when PHP 8.1+ is used.

I tested with different block themes including TT4 and TT3. The issue appears if you’re using any block theme. Everything is ok if a classic theme is used.

That’s kind of weird, but you can see the issue if you enter “Uncategorized” as a search keyword https://testaddon.thimpress.com/?s=uncategorized

As you can see, the header and footer template parts are totally broken displaying
“Welcome to WordPress. This is your first post. Edit or delete it, then start writing!”

I’d recommend you to enable WP Debug and check the logs.

If you enter any other keyword that is not present in the content then it’s displayed correctly https://share.cleanshot.com/NlwMKG4V

You don’t see the issue because there are not products assigned to the “Test” category.

This is your Shop page https://testaddon.thimpress.com/shop/ and no products are displayed.

You need to create product an assign it to the “Test” category and after that enter your “test” as your keyword. Of course it can be any word.

I’m not sure if I got you correctly. I just noted that the error appears on PHP 8.2+

So, we can say that the issue exists on both PHP 7.4 and PHP 8.2+

I just thought that it would help you to recreate the error on your side. As you can see the issue is not solved. Would you mind to unmark the resolved status?

If you’re trying to recreate the error on your local server then please make sure the following

• PHP 8.1 and above
• Any block theme, e.g. Twenty Twenty-Four theme
• LearnPress and WooCommerce plugins are installed
• The search keyword matches a product category. For example, you have “Test” product category and your search request is “test”. For example, you can try to search “service” and you’ll get the same error.

Btw, we were able to narrowed the error down. It appears if the search keyword matches an existing product category. For example, you enter “search” as a keyword and you have “Test” product category.

An additional info.

1. The issue appears only with a block theme. Tried with Twenty Twenty-Four and Twenty Twenty-Three. It doesn’t appear with a classic theme including the Storefront.
2. The search result shouldn’t be empty. In other words, use a keyword that is present in on your post.
