  • Hi Tim

Upgrade successful, back online and seemingly everything ok. I’ll update if anything else pops up.

Thanks for the prompt upgrade and a great product!

    Hi Tim

A quick update. It seemed weird that I was experiencing this problem without having updated the plugin, so I checked the readme.txt file on the server and sure enough it’s for v6.0.2 I’m really scratching my head about that because I didn’t do it, or if I did I don’t know when or how.

    Hi Tim

I haven’t yet upgraded to 6, but I get the exact same message as techspring when I try to access my website, which has totally crashed. I can’t access my dashboard or anything at all.

I’m also on WordPress 4.2.2 and on a Windows server. My service provider is Net Logistics at https://www.netlogistics.com.au

From my Google Analytics, it looks like the website crashed within the last hour or so ie some time after 5pm Sydney time on 21/5/15.

Ok, I worked it out. order=”fieldname desc” reversed the order. You just leave a single space between them.

    Hi Juie_mue

Can you please tell me exactly where you added an ‘asc’ or ‘desc’.

I can order by a particular field name ( eg order=”fieldname” ) which lists the records in ascending order by default, but I’m struggling to order them in descending order.

    Thanks and kind regards

Thanks JenR, you just saved my bacon too, although I wish I had read this a couple of hours earlier. I think a tiny warning on the settings page might be in order. Regards, Randall

Thanks John. Can you give any indication of how long this may take as my site is specifically targeted at mobile phone users and this means that the email button may not work for say half of my main audience.

    Kind regards

    Hi Dave

I’m not quite ready to post a public link, but can I contact you through the Tankmaster website contact email or could you provide me with another email address?

    Kind regards

I’m more than happy to report that the notable=”1″ attribute that Richard added to Abase a year or so ago is a big winner and basically facilitates pretty much any styling that you can think of. You add your own table tags before and after the Abase shortcode and at the same time create a new style class in your child theme style.css file. A few Google searches will turn up a tonne of css options and with a bit of trial and error you can style individual rows and columns any way you like, including font size, colour and alignment. If things aren’t doing what you want them to do, it helps to use the “Inspect element” feature in Chrome to have a look at the table structure.

I must say I’m really, really impressed with Abase and can feel a donation coming on when I’ve finished building my blog/website.

    All the best

Great, thanks John, that’s perfect. It referred to post IDs and I didn’t actually realize that pages had their own IDs.

    Hi again Dave

I may have to retract that. Not the bit about you being a Legend, just the bit about why the image code didn’t work for me before. The relevant code is in the search results page, so refreshing probably should have worked if I got the code right. As you say, I must have missed a comma here or stuck in an extra pointy hat there, or something like that. The main thing is it’s working!

    Kind regards

    Hi Dave

You’re a Legend! It’s now working perfectly for multiple images, so thanks!

I think I may have tried exactly that code, but made the mistake of only refreshing the search results page, which is on a different page to the actual search page. That’s a trap for new players because the refresh wouldn’t have activated the new code.

I’m not having quite as much luck with formatting my table contents, other than adjusting the column titles. I used some of the exact code from the shortcode you posted, but it would not work for me. I inspected the element using Chrome and I think that the changes are being overridden by my parent or child style.css files. So hopefully I will be able to sort it out there.

Thanks again for your help, much appreciated!

    Kind regards

I’ll let you know how I go with the style in due course.

Although I managed to successfully display a single image with your help, I still can’t get it to work for multiple images. I would have thought the following shortcode would work, but although it displays the first image properly, it only displays the cell content for the second image:

    [abase table=”table” fields=”…..,Photo1,Photo2″ images=”<site_url>^Photo1,<site_url>^Photo2″]

Did you ever manage to display more than 1 image in a table?

    Kind regards

    Thanks Jeremy

The codex explanation sort of makes sense, but unfortunately I have no idea how to go about appending a query string to the permalink of a particular page.

I am using the ABASE plugin to generate database search results on a particular page and need to append the following at the end of the permalink of that page only:

    ?[database field name]=[database field value]

Any assistance that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks and kind regards
    Randall
