I realize this is an old post, but I have a question on how you resolved this..
When you edit in the database option ID #1 and option ID # 37 in the “wp_options” table-
are you adding your subdomain to the list?
or replacing the domain name listed ?
I am having a similar problem, except I manually created a subdomain with my host for a multisite installation.
