  • Thanks Paul,

    I tried it on another site that was having the same issue on, and I added the rem and !important to the css and it worked! Thanks a bunch, I definitely appreciate the support.

    /* Increase theme width to 1200px */
    @media screen and (min-width: 960px) {
        .site {
            max-width: 1200px;
            max-width: 85.7142857143;
        }
    }
    .ie .site { max-width: 1200px; }
    footer[role="contentinfo"] {
        max-width: 1200px;
        max-width: 85.7142857143;
    }

    Sorry for the late reply. Did you want my whole child theme css? or just the resizing part?

    Ahh ok.

    Thanks Paul, I’ll definitely keep an eye out on this plugin for future updates.

    Also idk if it matters, but I’ve resized my theme to 1200 px

    No problem, and yes I did.

    Thanks for looking into this. Your plugin for twenty twelve seems really detailed and takes a lot of the guess work out of working with pure css for me lol.

    One question, how does styles apply the css? I noticed after deactivating the plugin the changes are gone, does it not modify the css file?

    Thanks

    My apologies,

    I followed the instructions you gave above, but those didn’t help so I deactivated and deleted both plugins (styles and styles:twenty twelve). I re-downloaded both and activated them one at a time.

    Again following the instructions above for Styles, that method seemed to work. Then I activated Styles:twenty twelve and the site got small again. I deactivated styles:twenty twelve and the site was still small, so i followed the instructions above but this time it didn’t work. The site stayed small

    Also it wasn’t that I was curious if I needed a child theme, more so how well the plugin works with one, but now that I think about it, something in styles (seems to) override the custom size in my child theme.

    Thanks

    Nevermind it did work, then it didn’t. Also I answered my own question from before, all the things I’m looking to customize are included with styles:twenty twelve.

    Thanks for your help, for now I think I’ll just customize everything using pure css. Doesn’t hurt to learn it lol

    You’re right wholthof, it works with just Styles 1.0.6, but when I install and activate styles:twenty twelve is when the site goes small again.

    Since you (wholthof) also use a twenty twelve child theme, is styles:twenty twelve not necessary? Can I customize everything just using styles?

    Thank you

    I’m having the same issue. I tried the fix but the only thing that works in disabling styles.

    here is my info

    url is : https://www.test.free360kinect.com
    theme : twenty twelve child theme
    browser : Chrome, Firefox, exporer (all the same result)
    browser : set normal

    I wasn’t sure if i should create a separate thread as my issue is the same as above, but please let me know and I’ll do that asap.

    Thanks for posting this! I was just about to download this plugin and was wondering if it offered an Adsense option. Free plugin or not this is kind of underhanded, and possibly breaking Adsense ToS…

    Again thanks for posting this.
