When I disable all plugins except NB, I lose the ability to edit at all – if I try to edit a page, all I see is a blank screen

Until a bit more than a week ago, I have to assume NB was working properly with drafts for most people, as it was for me. Now you’re asking EVERYONE to break how WP works in order to use NB? Forcing people to publish instead of getting your tool to work properly with drafts is NOT a reasonable solution.

This was all working fine until a week ago. But the way things work right, now if the workflow issues aren’t fixed, the Builder isn’t worth the hassles.

I can get to the Builder if I:
1. Create the draft
2. Open it in Preview
3. Edit with Nimble.
Poor workflow, if you ask me.

And I still have a problem that was introduced last week:
Once I get the post open in the Customizer to edit with Nimble, when I “Import” my standard .nimblebuilder file, the Customizer displays my home page instead of the post I’m working on. I have to Publish, then exit the Customizer, then find the post and finish editing.
This bug was introduced recently. WP/themes/plugins are all updated before I do any editing. Last Sunday is when I first saw it.

Update: I published, and even after publishing still got the error when attempting to use Nimble Builder. So apparently it’s a bug.

It seems to be working now if I revert PHP from 7.4 to 7.3. Verio says they know about this and are trying to resolve it.

What makes you think the issue should be resolved?

When I attempted to activate, I got “The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site https://www.gemsofwisdomconsulting.com/web [HTTP 500]”

Still get a 406 error when clicking on https://www.gemsofwisdomconsulting.com/web/xmlrpc.php?for=jetpack

Whoever marked this resolved is not a good support person. Open the case back up until I confirm that the problem is REALLY resolved.

Considering that Jetpack is currently uninstalled, this is no surprise. I’ll post an update when I reinstall.

No, do not close this issue until it’s fixed. That is how a GOOD support team works.

Other of your people are working this with other hosts. If a solution is found, I want to know, and pass it on if necessary.

No I am not hosted with iPage (unless Verio is a reseller).

I have checked the website and was able to replicate the issue. A small part of our customers was experiencing the same issue while using the Jetpack plugin and XMLRPC access. We are aware of this issue and our Engineering team is working on it to investigate the cause and fix it. I’m afraid there is no exact ETA provided at the moment. Rest assured, we will work on all options from our end to get this issue resolved as quickly as possible. Additionally, I really appreciate your understanding and patience while we get this fixed.

Well, I’m certainly getting the level of support I’m paying for. It would be nice if Jetpack had one person provide a consistent contact and follow through on a support issue. And it’s always good practice to read carefully and provide accurate replies.

The successful “?for=jetpack” link apparently returns some XML, as seen here:

Can someone who knows what they’re talking about confirm this?

And as I noted, I get a 406 when clicking on https://www.gemsofwisdomconsulting.com/web/xmlrpc.php?for=jetpack
The 409 appears when I try to activate the reinstalled Jetpack.

No, the site is not hosted by iPage.

When I tried to upgrade to PHP 7.4 from 7.32, I got a critical error every time I tried to go to the Site Health page. Debug told me it was a problem with Jetpack, so I deleted it and the PHP upgrade was successful.

I reinstalled Jetpack, and now I can’t activate it at all. When I click on “Set up Jetpack”, I get “The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site https://www.gemsofwisdomconsulting.com/web [HTTP 409].”

https://www.gemsofwisdomconsulting.com/web/xmlrpc.php?for=jetpack returns a 406:
“Not Acceptable
An appropriate representation of the requested resource /web/xmlrpc.php could not be found on this server.”

So yes, please let me know when you’ve resolved the issue.
