Since it has been two weeks and it has been generally ignored, I am starting to believe that Facebook Comments for WordPress is DEAD.

Correct me if I am wrong. Must’ve not been a big awesome feature after all, the parallel commenting and reply system of the world’s biggest social network on the world’s biggest blog system!!!

Update; I tested it on iOS and it only works partially. You can like and comment but share function is removed. Share function worked with Android.

Yeah, I tried them all with the same result. Save your time. A most popular, common function and the wp/fb community does not seem to get the importance of it being resolved. I almost believe that fb doesn’t want the fb app working anymore on wp.

Strangely enough, if you use the Addthis plugins, either smart layers or their social sharing buttons, fb comments work as normal.

This does not, however,replace the fb commenting system being directly on the page or post.

Angelo, I wrote Facebook twice. Nothing yet. I just find it strange that not a whole wave of wp users have discovered this yet. I tested every wp site I came across with facebook comments installed with the same issue each time.

According to the developer, it is FB problem. I reported the problem twice to them so far. I mean, the FB comment app must be on 1000’s of sites, if not a million.

thank God you are getting the same. I mean, not really, but it seems the topic is being ignored, both by WP, FB, and the FB comments developers.

NO MATTER from which WP Install, mine, other, or even the developers site – the comment appears on the site like normal, posts to the personal FB page, BUT LIKE AND COMMENT PRODUCES THIS FAILURE NOTICE:

Unable to like this object because it is not accessible (it may have been removed or you may no longer have permission to see it).

AND SHARE IS COMPLETELY GONE. THIS HAS BEEN THE STATUS SINCE FB WENT DOWN LAST SUNDAY.

I cannot believe that with so many WP Sites with so many FB Comments Plugin Installs on these sites, the problem would remain unnoticed or ignored.

Understood. My apologies. Except that the problem prevails. All I was asking if it is possible to comment on any WP site with FB comments installed and see if the issue is the same for you. I will mark this thread as resolved and continue it where I started it:

Not just my WP sites. Anyone’s I tested it on.

The issue prevails. With all FB comment plgins. And all WP sites. I sent the problem to the FB guys.

It appears on your FB page but the problem is still the same. I am surprised so little are calling this out. There must be at least 100,000 WP Sites with FB comments PLGIns no matter from whom.

Hey Yogi, no, I didn’t. Wow. I saw George Takei write about it. But what does that have to do with FB comments not working right? ??

I mean comments directly on FB work fine.

And the article says its now all ok, but obviously not.

I tried other FB Comments plgins with same issue.

You also might want to check if your FB APP key/secret is correct. Make sure on the FB app you have the website under App Domains and under (at the bottom) Website with Facebook Login..

Click the debug button again or refresh the page. That usually solves it. If your post is in draft mode that also causes the problem. Or in preview post/page. Once you publish it’s ok.

Do me a favor: comment on your WP site keeping post to FB checked. Go to your FB page and try to like or comment it. Share is gone completely.

No responses yet although this is in my humble opinion the best FB Comments Plugin….
