In reply to: Cannot login (ignores credentials)Ok, my client and I figured this out (with the help of Siteground tech support): it was being caused by the client’s antivirus software. He was using a free version of BitDefender, which stopped being supported in 2016. Once he turned it off, problem solved.
I told him he will have to get some new anti-virus software…:)

In reply to: [LearnPress - WordPress LMS Plugin] How to replace course thumbnail image?Yes, I saw that, augustus09; but that seems like an awkward workaround. Would rather find out how to do it programmatically. Thanks anyway.

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] How to display an event address in side panel?I am resubmitting this question, as I never received a reply.
My client is willing to purchase the plug-in, if the above requirement can be met.
Thanks,

In reply to: [CoolWP] Menu appearing twiceI fixed the problem: this was the cause.
In this theme, CoolWP, in the Customizer > Theme Options > Other Options > click on ‘Disable Secondary Menu’
The Primary menu will still appear, even if there is no menu set up; but is apparently being created out the pges.
What I still have not figured out, is where the pages to menu step is created. If anyone has any insights about that, please let me know.
cheers,

In reply to: “Call to undefined function….”I fixed this problem; here was the solution.
For whatever reason, the theme was not quite installed correctly, even though the install with the Duplicator installer completely without error; but the child theme was showing up in the admin dashboard as a broken theme. But once I activated the parent theme, and rechecked the child theme in the file structure, the child theme showed up (magically) in the dashboard. I was then able to activate the child theme, and then functioned correctly.
Just another WordPress mystery…..

In reply to: Old custom theme interferes with new theme…somehowJose,
I appreciate the comment but I know that deactivating all plugins is not a productive direction, because this CSS used to work before I was forced to clone the original site with its customized theme.
I need to learn more how WP loads itself, and how this customized form could be interfering with it; this is strongly suggested by the error messages I mentioned.

In reply to: Best advice for migrating to responsive theme?Adam,
Thanks much for the response. That’s about what I expected, but glad to get some confirmation, and the suggestion of the page by page construction.
Interesting to confirm as well, as I suspected, there is no “automatic” translation from one theme to another, unless there is some prepared meta data.
thanks again,

In reply to: [Co-Authors Plus] WP Query issue with WordPress 4.6Unfortunately this code patch did not work for me. Multiple authors do not appear, and the Search box for authors in the the WP Dashboard does not work at all. I hope the plug-in authors will take note and correct this soon.

In reply to: [Co-Authors Plus] WP Query issue with WordPress 4.6Thanks @jamiebergen; this is good news. This bug has been annoying our blog editor for past couple of months.
I the authors will update this plugin; the lastest version I see is 3.2.1 by By Mohammad Jangda, Daniel Bachhuber. I am not that familiar with updating php files in WordPress.

In reply to: [Co-Authors Plus] Bug with using Co-Authors Plus with WP-Prosperity themeSlight correction: I think the bug was caused by a WordPress upgrade, likely to 4.6, around 9/7/16, rather than the WP-Prosperity theme. So I am considering a roll-back to WP 5.4.5, the last one before the upgrade to 4.6, and see if that fixes the problem.

In reply to: [Co-Authors Plus] WP Query issue with WordPress 4.6Does anyone know if Co-Authors Plus has been tested with WP 4.6.1? I am having an issue with the wrong author showing up in posts. This is using the WP-Prosperity theme.
