Okay — it seems I cannot find an answer to my problem (which I am sure is based on ignorance).

I am very confused about ALBUMS. I made gallery with 14 images in it. I then created an ALBUM and set the cover image. I then dragged the GALLERY that I want in that ALBUM to the proper album. I added the NextGEN code in the PAGE I want the Album to show up and all I see is the list of images that are in the gallery. Is there not a way to simply show the ALBUM cover with the description or name?

Want I would like to be able to do is list the ALBUM covers only on the page (not post) and then when you click on that album you get the images related to it.

Ok — I simply installed the plugin WP-Mail-SMTP (https://www.callum-macdonald.com/code/wp-mail-smtp/) and configured it. Everything works fine now.
