One question – why did you set it up so that ‘wordpress’ is in your url at all. It might be better to fix that sooner than later.

There is a lot that I like about the site. It’s very dynamic – like a few sites in one. I also like the fact that the background is black. I’ve always wanted to do a site in black. The background image in the header area keeps it from too dark. I know it’s hard to add depth to the fonts but I’d try to do something with the movie a week sidebar – the text gets a little indistinguishable.

I’d definitely check it out again to see what you’re up to.

The body fonts range from too small to too light.

Having less than ten posts and a donate button is a bit of wishful thinking but I guess you’re thinking of the future.

I don’t know the theme so I can’t tell what is default or your work but stylistically I like it. The header color and body fonts are very pleasing to look at. Overall, it flows well – and I’m sure will look even better once you fill it out a bit more.

Do ‘home’ and ‘snipits’ launch the same page?

Since you typed this message in ALL CAPS I’d start with that as the problem…

I’m no expert on CPU so feel free to disregard everything I say…

In the interest of lightening up your site a little I think that loading 12 videos a header image and ads might use a lot of CPU! The Vimoe vids took about 60 seconds to fully load.

Also, I think that the Gravatar plugin is redundant now that you have 2.7.1 and can I ask why you are even using WP Super Cache? Doesn’t seem really worthwhile unless you are getting a tonne of traffic.

My philosophy is that less is more unless more facilitates less.

I’d get rid of those two plugins and have your page length for starters. I’m not sure if it’s legal but you could also try downloading and posting the videos instead of imbedding them.

Like I said though, I really don’t know anything about your problem.

I don’t know what’s going on with your left sidebar…

To put some content here, go to Site Admin -> Appearance/Presentation -> Widgets -> Select “Left Sidebar” -> Click “Show” -> Click on “Add” on one of the widgets on the left side -> Click “Save changes” -> Done

Also, ‘The Liberal Media’ on the pic of Rush is a bit confusing.

Oh, And add a little color variation to the text – everything is a shade of gray.

I think your blog is great! First of all, the fact that you are 14 and have your own blog is very impressive to me (it took me until I was 32!). I’m sure that as time goes on you will change many things about your site – possibly even the way you write.

We aren’t really supposed to focus on content here but I want to say I think that you should always strive to write in a way that represents who you are or how you feel at any moment. As your blog seems like a journal than anyone can read it’s important to consider your audience a bit. In your case I’m sure that most of your readers would rather read text speak than a more formal form of writing. So keep the text speak.

You are obviously mature enough to know that ways in which you express yourself at 14 are often very different from 12 or 16 or 30.

As far as the site is concerned – I love the graphic in the posts and I think you should work on a header that fits your colorful personality.

Last update – I just added some hover background images to the nav and tag links. I’m pretty happy with the site and at this point think I’ll leave it alone – unless someone thinks I could improve it somehow?

I intentionally made the design as understated as possible in order to highlight the art. I also use art from the gallery wherever I can on the front page. The more I look at it though, the more I want to strip it down even more like flickr or cafe press.

I think my next more will include lots of white and a greater focus on typography.
