Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this?

I find some of them in the sitemap, but not all. It’s like there is two types of error, that continuously occur:

    Type 1:
Here is the URL for the product sitemap in question:
    https://heta.dk/product-sitemap.xml

In the sitemap, the issues starts to show aprrox. 65 lines above the bottom, from the line ‘…/produkt/plaat/’ and downwards. This is a Swedish product name, and if you visit the link, you’ll also be redirected to ‘…sv/produkt/plaat’. This issue continues throughout the rest of the sitemap all the way to the bottom: The link has no Swedish language code in it, but still a swedish product name, and if you visit it, you are redirected to the right place.
What I don’t understand, is how these get into the sitemap in the first place, because the URL’s are faulty and have never existed.

    Type: 2:
In the crawl-reports, I always get about 10-15 links, that look something like this:

    site/en/product/english-product-name/seemingly-random-product-name-from-another-language

The english product name is the same every time, but for some reason, a random product name from any another language is added, making for an obvious 404. Again, Google is crawling a URL, that have never existed on the site, and I can’t figure out why.

I’ve had WPML checking this out, and they ended up suggestion to deactivate the sitemap altogether. Any ideas for a solution?

    Hello,

WPML is currently using SV as country code for Swedish language. I was earlier attempting to generate a custom language named SE for the Swedish, but the adjust was aborted, and it was never published or visible to the public or Google.

But I do see now, that there is still content from SV in my custom SE-language. What I don’t understand is how it got into the sitemap? It was never published, and thus shouldn’t be indexed.

I find it difficult to manage the connection between WPML and Yoast SEO, is there some recent documentation that I can study, preferably regarding this issue, of course.

    Thanks for your assistance.

    BR,
    Alex

    Hello,

I found the problem, which was caused apparently by some modification by the preivous developer to the pagination.php-file. Don’t know for what purpose, but when I replaced the content of the file with the current standard code (or removed the file completely), the products started switching as expected.

Thanks for the help. This site needs a cleanup in many ways, it seems. ??

    /Alex

Thanks for the tip, seank123, I’m trying it out.

A first glance it solves part of the issue, since I am able to place link buttons within the product description.

However, I still need to be able to edit/translate button text from only one place. Some of the buttons will be on several product pages. By inserting these buttons with shortcodes on each page, won’t that mean, that if I ever need to change the button text, I would have to go into +1000 products pages and do it on all of the shortcodes? That will take hours. If it is possible to change button text from a central setting (fx. by WPML?), please elaborate on how I can do this.

    Thanks

    Hi,

The problem is solved. Turned out to be a payment solution setup error.
