I did insert the images in the post, I’d like to be able to have images in the post and as a thumbnail, but not have 2 images show up in the excerpt.

I was having the same issue, then updated my .htaccess file to this:

# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>

# END WordPress

AddType x-mapp-php5 .php
AddHandler x-mapp-php5 .php

And it seems to be working now.

I’m having the same issue, except it didn’t start till yesterday (12/21/2008). Oddly enough, it had worked before.
