I am observing the same: the problem is rooted in the german formal language translation. I have been observing these problems with MailPoet frequently in the past. Therefore I deleted the formal german language files and am now sticking to the default option german informal.

It seems, that I could solve this problem. Apparently a Redis cache plugin for WordPress blocked something. Deactivating this plugin, flushing the redis cache and reactivating solved it.

It seems that using different WP_REDIS_DATABASES fixed the problem!

Hello, I have switched my WordPress installations to PHP 7.4. Now everything works fine. So the problems seem connected with PHP 8.0.

I didn’t find any specific entries in the Apache error.log. The php8.0-fpm.log shows entries like these:

I have now deactivated all other plugins and activated only BackWPup. Furthermore I have deactivated the “Chaplin” Theme and am using the standard Twenty-Twenty-One Theme.

In this scenario I am getting no error message, but only a completely empty page with no page elements, only the theme-background-color.

I am using Debian 10 Linux server with Apache 2.4 and PHP 8.0-FPM.

now – with version 2.6.1 – the customizer settings are working as expected.

I think the “Author Bio” option is a really great addition to the Chaplin theme.

I have installed on both sites the ActivityPub and the Nodes plugins, as I thought it would be useful to combine both. Basically it’s not a problem, that contacts from one of my sites (regenpfeifer.eu) are listed as “mastodon (AP)”. But I am always suspicious if something doesn’t work as expected. I just want to be sure that I have the correct settings, because I would like to use my WordPress and Friendica sites for a productivity workflow.

I will ask for support in the Friendica User Forum, if i get a solution there, I will write it here.
