Hi, Weglot Support here, we hope you are having a great day.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to write a review.

It seems that your experience with our product can be improved, and we’d be glad to help you, the best we can, improve your experience with our product.

Regarding the behavior you described, I confirm that using Weglot, your translations are generated progressively which explains why your word count may increase over time until all your content gets translated.

In your case, if I understand correctly, you’ve reached your current limit of translated words on your plan. If this is the case, note that we are also providing some features that can help you to easily optimize your translations and therefore, reduce your word count.

If you’re interested in trying those features, don’t hesitate to contact our team at [email protected] and ask for Guillaume, he’s one of our engineers, so he can personally take care of your demand.

    Best,

    The Weglot Team

Note that Weglot generates a translation every time it meets new content, that’s why it’s able to translate your whole website in a few seconds/minutes.
Weglot matches a translation with specific original content. Knowing this, when you’re editing your original content, Weglot doesn’t find the matching translation and so creates another translation to match this new content.

    • In this case, Weglot offers the option to detect potential inactive translations.
If a translation has not been seen for a specific time, Weglot can flag the translation as “potentially inactive”.
In this case, you’ll be able to remove those “potentially inactive” translations if you judge them as currently inactive.
I’m pleased to send you the documentation about how to find and remove potentially inactive translations.
      https://support.weglot.com/article/288-how-can-i-remove-inactive-translations
    • Be aware that Weglot also proposes options to exclude content from the translation as you can see by following the link below.
      https://support.weglot.com/article/95-how-to-exclude-urls-blocks-words-from-translation
    • Finally, Weglot proposes an option to suggest potential translations that can be merged in order to help you save translation credits, as you can see by following the link below.
      https://support.weglot.com/article/302-how-can-i-add-variables-to-my-translations

It seems that your experience with our product can be improved, and we’d be glad to help you, the best we can, improve your experience with our product.

In fact, the Weglot translation mechanism works like this:

    1. It scans the original content of your online website (HTML file)
    2. After the scan, Weglot parses (read and cut) the elements between HTML tags.
    3. It automatically translates this original content to its translated equivalent. It also reuses the translations that are already in your Translation List if some contents have already been translated.
    4. If there are contents that are not in the Translation List, Weglot will translate and add them to your Translation List available in your Weglot Dashboard

So as long as your original content and HTML structure are not changing, you’ll keep all your translation

Please contact our team at [email protected] so our team members can discuss this more in-depth

I can confirm that URLs and images are not considered in the word counter. If you find some URLs into your Translation List, I’d be really glad to help you exclude such element from the translation.

Be aware that Weglot also proposes options to exclude content from the translation as you can see by following the link below.

Hi, Weglot Support here, we hope you are having a great day.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to write a review.

It seems that your experience with our product can be improved, and we’d be glad to help you, the best we can, improve your experience with our product.

Weglot by default tries to provide a complete up-to-date translated version of your website in minutes.
The process you’re mentioning seems different from the way Weglot works on your website, and Weglot could maybe be adapted to your demand thanks to a couple of features.
Indeed, Weglot proposes a “Display Automatic Translation” feature that allows you to display or not the automatic translations. This feature disabled, only the manually-reviewed (translations you’ve edited/validated) will be displayed on the translated versions.

Weglot proposes also a feature to exclude all your URLs by default, except the specific ones you want to keep translating. Learn more about this feature into the documentation below

Hi, Thanks a lot for your message and for the explanation.
Actually, Weglot proposes a Free plan and also proposes Premium plans.

Premium plans allow us to be able to create super cool features such as the Slug Translations (See => https://support.weglot.com/article/148-can-i-translate-my-urls) to improve the UX on your translated versions.
The “Variable” feature (See => https://support.weglot.com/article/302-how-can-i-add-variables-to-my-translations) or the option to detect potentially inactive translation (See => https://support.weglot.com/article/288-how-can-i-remove-inactive-translations) are also helpful features to help optimize your translations.

Weglot also proposes an option to only translate specific pages on your website (See => https://support.weglot.com/article/123-wordpress—how-to-exclude-from-translation-all-pages-except-specific-ones).
All these features could be helpful if you want to keep managing a Free plan with Weglot.

We’d be glad to help you further. You’d just need to contact our team at?[email protected]?and ask for Chris, our Head of Support, so he can personally take care of your demand and help you improve your experience with our plugin.

    Have a wonderful day,
