I’m not sure your review is really relevant as you didn’t even try the plugin on your website and you are spreading false information.
Creating an account just today and posting a review on a plugin you didn’t even try seems to me like a fake review.
Even if I shouldn’t spend one more minute answering to this, I will as I want to make it clear.
We have a free plan for small websites.
Then we have a starter plan for 1 extra language and a business plan for more extra languages. So no, you don’t need to go “three payment tiers” to have an extra language. This is simply wrong. The free plan and the starter plan both give you an extra language.
Best.
Hi,
I’m really sorry if you thought it was 2000 words per article. Where did you read this ?
The plugin description says:Weglot Translate is free for small websites (under 2000 words) with one translation language.
If it’s not clear tell me, I will change the description but to be honest it’s the first time it happens.
Indeed if you have a blog, the free plan will not be enough because blogs have a lot of content but I don’t think other translation plugin will give you unlimited translated words either.
We have thousands of users on the free plan, those are small websites like restaurants, mobile app, institutional, hotel etc….
But you are right, a blog with a lot of content will not be able to use Weglot for free. But again, we can’t give the product with no limitations as we are paying automatic translations.
I hope it’s more clear for you even if you chose another plugin. If you have questions about Weglot or even if you need help on chosing another plugin, I can help as I know how the main translations plugin works and their features. Just ask me.
Best,
RémyHello,
I’m really sorry Weglot left you with a bad experience but I believe everything is explained clearly.
We have a free plan for 1 language and less than 2000 words.
This is indicated on our pricing page : https://weglot.com/pricing
This is also indicated on the plugin description page and finally, this is the first question on our FAQ :it is free for small website (under 2000 words) with one translation language. If you need more, you can upgrade
You only needed one language but your website has far more than 2000 words which is why you were not elegible to the free plan and received this email.
Many WordPress users are enjoying the free plan but we can’t give the product for free with no limitations : We are paying the translations and we are working full time on the product to make it better and support every users (free and not free)

In reply to: [Translate WordPress and go Multilingual - Weglot] payedHello,
To give you an insight, 90% are using the free plan and only 10% are paying.
So no, the free version is not “unusable”I agree with you 2000 words is not a lot if you write content, so indeed, for bloggers, you will be over 2000 words.
But a lot of WP website are actually not blogs, they are landing page for apps, or small website for a hotel, a restaurant with 5-6 pages and few content. All these websites are using Weglot for free and we are helping them with free support also. Why do we offer 2000 and not more ?
The answer is simple : automatic translations are not free, we have to pay them for every words. It means that for every free users, we are losing money.I hope this help you understand our position. Keep in mind that we could also not have a free plan.
Finally, you can find other solutions, they are a lot of free solutions or less expensive. But we are the only plugin offering automatic translations + SEO support.
Don’t hesitate if you have more questions.

In reply to: [Translate WordPress and go Multilingual - Weglot] Change defaut languageHi,
For now we don’t force redirection, but what will happen is that Google should serve the correct version of your website. Meaning that users from france should be served /fr/ website.
For instance, If I type “Weglot” in Google, I see https://weglot.com/fr/ but if an american search “Weglot”, he will see https://weglot.com/Forum: Reviews
In reply to: [Translate WordPress and go Multilingual - Weglot] Very bad.No.
Weglot synchronizes with your website. Your website has a lot more than 2000 words, this is why you are not elegible in the free plan. You can exclude pages of your website that you don’t want to translate.
About not working, I can help you fix your problem if you had contacted me.
We answer on support forum, email and live chat and we support all users (free and not free) so we are easy to find.Hi,
Thanks for your message.
In Weglot settings page, can you put the following in field “Exclude URL” :/wp-comments
If this doesn’t work, you can email me at [email protected], I answer faster usually.

In reply to: [Translate WordPress and go Multilingual - Weglot] open pdf based on languageFor every PDF you have in your original language, you can upload a PDF in the language you want to your WordPress admin.
Then, to link it to your website language. You can go in Weglot dashboard and put the URL of the translated PDF in the translated input field. Like you would do for a normal string.
Best.
