That’s kind of what I’m looking to do. The only thing is I need the specific date portion of your code to be a variable. The actual date would be entered in a custom field. Can you please tell me how I could change your code to achieve that?

Not true. I can type in the URL for the author page and it will display when I go about it that way. Yes, it won’t contain any posts, but it does show their profile.

I don’t see any of the code mentioned above anywhere in functions.php. Could you please tell me how to go about implementing this fix in the current version of P2? I need to know ASAP.

Thanks for figuring that out for me. ?? Only trouble is I tried that plugin and it isn’t working for me and many others with the current version of WordPress.

I just tried installing it and it doesn’t work for me either. I clicked to vote and it says Loading, but nothing ever happens.

Yes, I posted it in just has you showed it and the revisions keep on coming. I pasted it at the bottom of the file. Is that alright or should I be placing it someplace else?

@jonimueller – If FireFox is so terrible, then why doesn’t this problem occur with any previous installation of WordPress? It is only a problem with 2.8.

@ t31os_ – I have four add-ons with FireFox, so it’s not like I have a ton. Could you please tell me how to try FireFox with a new profile? I would be interested in trying that.

Well, I have just discovered something interesting. I typically use FireFox, so I thought that I would give IE a try. One of the sites using 2.8 loaded very fast. The other took a second or two or three, but the wait wasn’t too bad. So, why doesn’t 2.8 play nice with FireFox 3?

I don’t have a local installation, so I can’t test the speed of that. As I said, this isn’t just me.

2.8 loading slow. Times out.

Yes, they are all on the same server. Also, I would have to disagree. WordPress 2.8 is much slower. I have found this to be so and I have found several people online who mention the same problem.

I tried yet again and it still doesn’t work for me. I now have a post with a revision on it.

Never mind. I just found it in the Settings screen.

I have installed a new blog with 2.8.4 and this doesn’t work at all. The revisions just keep piling up.
