are you using the latest ie 7 build? Some of the older ones had absolutely crap layout engines, but the newer builds are actually pretty decent

ah…I sort of see what you’re saying now. Using something like Ultimate Tag Warrior it’s possible you could have some sort of php/mysql code of some sort that would do that, but I have no idea how

I second that. And get rid of the footer. They’re nice, but having one saying “this is here for no reason” is an eyesore. I also don’t like the chunky font for post titles. A skinny sans serif font like Lucida Grande, or something like Georgia or Dante would be better.

At the moment there isn’t an automatic importer like there is for MT-WP or Blogger-WP, so at the moment your best bet is just to do a manual database move.

However, Matt Mullenweg recently coded a WP-WP importer/exporter script which will hopefully get some more work done on it so that it can be included into the next release.

You could take out the comment form

not the whole comment template, but just the form for entering and submitting comments….

I really don’t think it would be worthwhile to code such a plugin. moving it from wp-admin to admin-interface or something like that really isn’t going to make or break you. I see this being a tremendous amount of work, as many plugins depend on hooks in the admin panel that rely on the locations of files…you’d probably have to go through thousands of lines of code to make all the changes. A better investment of time would be thinking up and memorizing a killer password

I think it’s good how it is. I just read a couple paragraphs to see how it was on the eyes, and it wasn’t bad. Usually when making a dark theme you tend to make the font too small and too contrasty, but I think it’s fine

You’ll probably want to do a modification of the .htaccess file…no idea what that would look like, but others might

take a look at your server logs. I had one of those a while back, and the problem was a file with the wrong permissions. usually it’s easy to pick out and fix

As I recall, the_excerpt strips most formatting. However, there’s a plugin that let’s you do all sorts of fun stuff with it at guff.szub.net/2005/02/26/the-excerpt-reloaded/
