In reply to: [Resoc Social Editor] doesn’t work, buggyHi,
Thank you for reporting!
Well, actually, this plugin has been discontinued. I’m actually surprised you found it, as it is not listed anymore in P directory.
A new one is available: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/resoc/ . It should work just fine, although it does not support the Yoast box (yet).

Font selection is in the roadmap. Not sure when it will be available, though.
RTL is another story. I want all users to be able to use Resoc as soon as possible. So I have implemented RTL. The feature itself it ready, but there is one last step before the release. As a French guy, the two languages I know are left-to-right and use the latin alphabet. So I can’t really trust what Resoc creates in RTL mode.
Would you be so kind to contact me via [email protected]? I will send you a sample image. The only thing you will have to do is telling me if it make sense or if there is something wrong.
Hi,
Reading my previous answer above, I’m a bit surprised: this answer has nothing to do with your problem, plus I clearly remember testing the “Screen Options” issue on WordPress 4.x and 5.x (with success: it is always present, whatever I try).
Could you tell me:
- Do you confirm this issue is triggered by plugin activation (no “Screen Options”) / deactivation (“Screen Options” is back)?
- Are there any JavaScript errors?
- Could list your other plugins?

In reply to: [Resoc Social Editor] Not workingHi,
I was wondering if you had the opportunity test your page with the Facebook debugger? Did it show the expected image?

In reply to: [Resoc Social Editor] Resoc causing multiple copies in media library.Hi,
Thank you for reporting, and sorry for the inconvenience…
Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce this issue. The plugin is supposed to generate a single image per post, and this is always what get, whatever I test on WordPress 4.9.10 or 5.1.1.
Could you tell me which plugins you are using?
Also, as you already checked the details of the images, could you tell me if, by any chance, they share the same id or not? To do so, you can visit your Media library again, click an image, and look at the URL. It can ends like
/post.php?post=178
or/upload.php?item=178
… what matters here is the id, 178 in this example. Could you check the ids of a few similar images?FYI and reference, this issue was also reported here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/excluding-non-public-posts/#post-11316971

PhilippeHi again,
When testing a page, I suggest to use the Facebook Sharing Debugger and click the “Scrap again” button to make sure you are testing the latest version of the page. Else, Facebook is caching your page metadata and you are likely to test an old version.
Also, could you paste your page URL here for review?

In reply to: [Resoc Social Editor] Excluding non-public postsHi,
Sure, please let me know if the migration to WP5 helps. Please note: after your upgrade, it is unlikely the extra images will disappear (as this is an unexpected behavior, the plugin has no feature to, say, remove duplicates). But what we can expect is to have a single image for the posts created afterward.
Once the issue is understood, I expect to update the plugin to actually remove the duplicated created by its previous, faulty versions.
FYI and reference, the same issue has been reported by another user: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/resoc-causing-multiple-copies-in-media-library/

In reply to: [Resoc Social Editor] Not workingH again,
For this kind of testing, I suggest you to:
- Go to https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/
- Submit the URL of the page you are testing (eg. https://yoursite.com/first_article).
- After Facebook displays something, click the “Scrap again” button to force Facebook to reload your page
This is because Facebook is caching the pages metadata and, unless told otherwise, reloads them only so often. Plus this technique saves you from polluting you FB account ??
Also, could you indicate here the URL of the page you are testing so I can review it too?

In reply to: [Resoc Social Editor] Excluding non-public posts(I didn’t answer with the right account, sorry – Philippe)
Hi Lucien,
Thank you for reporting this issue. I’m sorry for the inconvenience.
Could you give me additional feedback?
– Are you noticing the issue on “old pages/posts” (created while Social by RealFaviconGenerator was in use) or “new pages/posts” (created recently, while Resoc Social Editor is in use) ?
– Which kind of content is concerned? Pages? Posts? Something else?
– Could you give me the URL of a faulty page? I realize I won’t see the issue because you switched back to Social by RFG, yet that could provide valuable hints.Regards,
PhilippePS: While it’s good to pursue this conversion in Internet language aka English, I just wanted to say Bonjour cher compatriote ??

In reply to: [Resoc Social Editor] Error when clicking “select image for overlay”Hi Robin,
Plugin v0.0.12 was published a minute ago. It includes the fix you suggested in your second message. Would you be so kind to tell me if this is fixing the issue on your side?
Regards,
Philippe
