  • The way I was able to get around the lack of a dashboard page was to pull up my blog on an internet browser just to read it as a guest would (instead of logging in as an admin.).

I have an email notification sent to me whenever someone leaves a comment to my blog with a backdoor email address. So, if you have your blog set up to sent notifications to you, go ahead and leave a general comment on one of your articles. After that, the system will send you a notification update and a login address that will take you directly to your comment page.

Once there, your sidebar dashboard should be available and you can click over to the plug-in page and deactivate the software. I have completely deleted the plugin from my dashboard, and my system seems to be running fine for now.

    Hope that helps.

I have found a backdoor solution to this issue that may help:

You can get into your dashboard if your blog is set up to email you a notification whenever your blog gets a comment (I have mine sent to a private ‘gmail’ address.)

Look up your blog as a general user would on an internet browser (as if you were looking at it as a guest and not logging into it as a user) and leave a comment on one of your articles/stories.

The system will email you a notification that your blog has a comment waiting to be reviewed, and it will typically provide a backdoor link for you to log into to take you to your comment page.

Once there (the backdoor comment page) flip over to your plugins and deactivate statsurfer. Once you do this, the problem should go away. FYI, I completely deleted the plugin (instead of just deactivating it) and right now my blog seems to be back up and running.

Let me know if this helps or if anyone has an easier solution in case this ever happens again.

This plugin update was a complete disaster, but a makeshift solution for getting into your dashboard is below:

Same with me. Does not allow me the option of getting into my dashboard to deactivate it. This plug in is a total piece of garbage.

This new update has completely destroyed my blog. Now, I cannot even log into my dashboard to deactivate it.
