First, please double-check the plugin configuration on the following path and make sure you are enabled/disabled your desired options:
Dashboard > Statistics > General

After reconfiguring the plugin, check the functionality of the plugin and contact me if the problem still exists.

Here is the option that you can reset analytics manually:
Dashboard > Statistics > Setting > Reset

There is no other mechanism that reset the data.

If you would like to disable the mentioned feature, you can do it through the following path:
Dashboard > Statistics > Settings > General > Pages and Posts > Hits in Single Page
