Happy to help. Also happy that this bug will be fixed in the next version of MetaSlider.
By the way, hopefully the next version’s arrows will offer ephemeral arrows as an option (ephemeral arrows appear when scrolled over; otherwise they are not visible on the image). If not part of the next revision, to have access to ephemeral arrows, should I revert to an older version of MetaSlider? If so, which one do you recommend?
Thanks!
Here it is (good luck!):
Hello Ron, thank you for contacting Support, my name is Mohamed G.
?
As per our conversation today, once WP Debugging was enabled, this is the specific error:
?Fatal error: Uncaught ArgumentCountError: Too few arguments to function Boldgrid_Inspirations_Stock_Photography::add_dashboard_media_tabs(), 0 passed in /home/homeat5/public_html/wp-content/plugins/ml-slider/ml-slider.php on line 191 and exactly 1 expected in /home/homeat5/public_html/wp-content/plugins/boldgrid-inspirations/includes/class-boldgrid-inspirations-stock-photography.php:27 Stack trace: #0 /home/homeat5/public_html/wp-content/plugins/ml-slider/ml-slider.php(191): Boldgrid_Inspirations_Stock_Photography->add_dashboard_media_tabs() #1 /home/homeat5/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(324): MetaSliderPlugin->filter_admin_notices('') #2 /home/homeat5/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(348): WP_Hook->apply_filters(NULL, Array) #3 /home/homeat5/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php(517): WP_Hook->do_action(Array) #4 /home/homeat5/public_html/wp-admin/admin-header.php(267): do_action('in_admin_header') #5 /home/homeat5/public_html/wp-admin/admin.php(239): require_once('/home/homeat5/p…') #6 {main} thrown in /home/homeat5/public_html/wp-content/plugins/boldgrid-inspirations/includes/class-boldgrid-inspirations-stock-photography.php on line 27
?No. However, our initial error message suggested that our BoldGrid Inspirations plugin might not be fully compatible with the latest MetaSlider update. Anything to this?
Our current MetaSlider plugin is Version 3.90.0. I don’t know the version used by indiatrotter.
By the way, this version’s arrows no longer appear when crossed by a mouse pointer; instead, they display permanently and prominently on the slide images when enabled — and, in my opinion, take away from the presentation. To get the ephemeral arrows instead of permanent arrows, should I revert to an older version of MetaSlider? If so, which one do you recommend?
Received a nearly identical WP Critical Error for MetaSlider yesterday for our website built on the BoldGrid WordPress platform. Submitted the error email to our hosting company. They debugged the Metaslider plugin and isolated the specific error, virtually identical to indiatrotter’s, then edited out line 191. Once that was done, the MetaSlider plugin functioned and no longer produce a Critical Error message. The hosting tech told me that this should not be considered a permanent fix, and that I should report the issue to WordPress and MetaSlider so a proper code re-write can be made and an update released.
