Thanks, it is easy enough to get the data out of the database but we need the content editors to be able to set the number of columns by category.

For example when creating a category called news they decide that this will show the 2 column template but a category called “What’s on” will show 3 columns etc.

I can use template parts to show the right number of cols but how can we set that within wordpress? I can’t find it natively so I’m hoping there is a plugin
