When you activate the plugin, a page is created called “Chat” and this will be where the chat is by default.

The [bp-instant-chat] shortcode allows you to use any page as the chat page.

By having the chat on every page do you mean like Facebook? If so then you can’t do it.

I can create a chat box like Facebook for a price if you would like?

After reading your comment again I had a thought… Are you looking at the page in the admin or on the front end of the website because you need to be looking at it on the front end of the website.

I only launched the plugin for the first time 2 weeks ago so it’s still in quite early stages.

I will definitely add a shortcode in the next version of the plugin. I’m sorry that it’s not working for you. If you let me know what theme you’re using and I can investigate and hopefully fix the issue.

I greatly appreciate the feedback. There is a lot I plan to add but if there is anything else which you think can be done then feel free to let me know.

On the chat page users can search for other users and start chatting with them.

To test the plugin – go to “Pages” in the WordPress admin and find the “Chat” page then click “View”.
