@arreane: I was suggesting having 2 separate slideshows on the same page, but not loading at the same time. One slideshow would load and cycle through all its images and then the second would load and cycle through all its images. That would mean half the load over 2 slideshows instead of the full load over 1 slideshow.

I have 140 images in the slide show on my home page. Is there any way I can reduce the server load short of removing slides? If I do remove slides, how many would be a reasonable number to retain, that wouldn’t cause enormous server load?
Is there a way to break the slides up into different slideshows displaying in the same location on the home page? That doesn’t seem likely. But I’m trying to figure out a way around this.
All of these images are in the MS slideshow. I can try to reduce their size, but they’re already sized to display in the slideshow 515×335, which is not a large size. Or should I reduce it furtherr? It shouldn’t matter what the original size of the image is in terms of how long it takes to display, right? I also have my images optimized.
Does the number of images in the slideshow impact display speed? It is a large slideshow, many images.

No, no chance. I have never deactivated a newsletter. I would also assume that if this happened to me if might have happened to other users, who might not have told you about this.
The only change I can think of is that I edited each of my three newsletters I send to my lists. But I was careful to save and reactivate each one. Is it possible the newsletter wasn’t saved or reactivated and this changed the status of the list? What’s odd about that is that all I needed to do to get the newsletter to resume was to change the status from inactive to active. I didn’t have to do anything regarding the newsletter settings themselves.
I fixed my problem by clearing my browser cache. Then I tried activating the plugin again and this time it worked.
@ James: I’m having the same problem with the plugin. Here is the error msg:
Insufficient permissions in Search Console
Your Google account does not have sufficient permissions for this Search Console property, so you won’t be able to see stats from it on the Site Kit dashboard. This service was originally connected by the administrator “xxx” — you can contact them for more information.“xxx” is me, my username.
My Google Analytics account is connected to the same acct. I used for Site Kit. Is there some setting on my Google console I need to change to give the proper permission?
I did recently change my GOogle password. Would that cause a problem?
I visited Google Search Console and noticed I had 2 properties for the same domain. One was verified and the other not. So I removed the unverified property. Then I refreshed the browser page and tried to activate the plugin. I still got the same error.
I did try to reset the plugin as suggested in another thread. But after it asked me to login to Google and I clicked on my Google profile & then “continue,” the next page offered this error: “missing parameter: ‘code’

My script URL looks like this: It doesn’t have “http” or “https” at all:
src="//z-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/onejs?MarketPlace=US&adInstanceId=f3139996-0e96-43ac-91e3-fbd228012252"></script>
I also tried adding an “https:” before the ‘//’ hashmarks in the URL. It didn’t change anything. No ad displayed.
I decided to add a search ad, which did display before. So there is now an Amazon search ad displaying in my sidebar. Not what I really want. But better than no Amazon ads at all.

Only one form of Amazon script worked: the search ad. The recommendation ad is the one I want to display, and which will not display.
Also, the Dummy ad version did display as well. But not rich content or plain html.
I had already tried the html code with a Custom html widget and it didn’t display then either. I just tried it again and it didn’t display.
But when I inserted an Amazon search ad as a customer html widget, it DID display. Not sure why one displayed and the other doesn’t.
No, it doesn’t display as a generic widget either. The only code I could get to display as a generic widget was the Amazon search ad code.
I tried inserting the code as plain htlm and rich content-type Advanced Ads ads. Both failed. The dummy version did show dummy ads (grey boxes with the word “ads”). I cannot figure out how to display a screenshot here.
I’m not sure why dummy displays and the other versions don’t.
I am displaying Adsense ads using its auto ads code inserted into my Genesis theme. Could there be some sort of conflict?
I also notice potential plugin conflicts with 3 I’m using, which are on yr list: Relevanssi, Facebook/PageFrog and Smush. Do you think they could be causing the problem?
