In reply to: permalinks calls index.php alsoI’m assuming you have done the obvious and changed the structure in the Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks settings?
If not try doing that and changing it to something like /%category%/%postname%/
This may eliminate your problem

In reply to: Issue on front page, just with Internet ExplorerAs I’m on Linux with no access to Internet Explorer, I would suggest A) Not to worry too much about it as less and less people are using IE nowadays, and B) Check your Stylesheet over ( *.css file) to ensure that there is nothing preventing IE to display properly.
Also are you running AJAX/jQuery/Protoype?

In reply to: OMG, someone posted comment on an autosave/revision post!I wouldn’t worry too much about this ‘Intrusion’. If it was a hacker he would have done much more than just left a comment on an unvalidated post. They could have completely defaced your website, which would have been more likely in this case.
As for your database being ‘Hacked’, this seems very unlikely as they could have stolen your username (admin) and password. This seems again more likely. Then they wouldn’t have had to leave a comment anywhere.
It was probably just a small glitch. Make sure you stay up-to-date. Thats all I can say ??

In reply to: Webmaster site verification problemI may be wrong here, but when I did this for my site I do believe that the google META tag had to be either straight after the <head> tag or right before the </head> (or possibly right after the </head>).
Please check that you have put it in the correct place on your index page.
Also, I would give up to 48 hours for google to update everything. It may be an internal problem.

In reply to: Fixed Hack – Need Help Recovering Lost PostsYour hosting provider may have kept backups of your database or may have even cached the database (until session was destroyed) so it may be a good idea to contact your hosting provider and ask them to give you a copy of your Database.
This would be my first idea.

In reply to: Tag Management?Im not quite sure I understand what you mean. Can’t you just not use them in correlation to your post? Wouldn’t that be the easiest way of doing this?

In reply to: Tags are useless to google? No thats not 100% true. Tags are still vastly used in googles search engine methods.
What has changed is that it is not what is primarily searched for such as Meta Keywords and the description. It also helps if you have a well crafted URL for it to see.
Also If you have a well-laid out and relevant website, this will also help you.
However, Considering that you MAY use tags in your URL then this will help a lot in how google searches for your website. You also have to think about other search engines (even if google is the largest)

In reply to: Re-install WP and save contentYou can always do a WP-Backup (from the Dashboard) and using the export tool then once you have re-installed it you can use the Import tool to re-upload everything.

In reply to: Incomplete DashboardI have had a similar problem before.
The way I fixed this was to ensure there were no blank lines at the bottom of any of the wordpress php files. This is a very tedious job however it did help me and it did fix my problem.
Be careful! Make sure you don’t do anything other than remove blank lines at the bottom of the file!
