so do I replace the word “prefix” with “wp_”
I’m really a novice with SQL and saw there was a “Create Table” function but then it asked how many fields…so I’m not sure how to go about entering all that code as an SQL command.
Wondering if Cimatti might issue an update which would fix this?
Kristyna,
When creating the new table in the sql database, how many fields did you create?
Thanks!
Hi,
Also sorry for the delay…I hadn’t received the notification of your response. Yes, I’m using version 1.2. Re hosting environment I’m not sure exactly what you’re looking for here but I’m on the latest version of WordPress using MySQL version 5.0.91-log, using PHP 5.3. Anything more specific you need from me?
Thanks,
Rick

In reply to: [Form Manager] Possible to limit word count in text areaHi…thanks for your help with this and no worries on any delay.loading
This hasn’t quite done the trick uet. Adding the <script> tags above and below did make the code disappear.
I also installed a plugin to make sure jQuery was loading…but what’s happening now is, when I submit a form with longer than 50 words in the text area field it submits with no problem or error message. The word count isn’t displayed in the field label.
Also this script seems to have broken the “required” functionality of the other fields as I’m able to submit the form with only the text area filled in (as I did just to test that field) with no validation messages appearing if the other required fields aren’t filled in.
Oy…any thoughts? And thanks so much for your help!

In reply to: [Form Manager] Possible to limit word count in text areaOh and does it matter where the note field with the code in it goes? I tried it at the end of the form as well as right after the text area field.

In reply to: [Form Manager] Possible to limit word count in text areaShould the code be pasted into the label field of the note instead? I have it pasted into the “Note” field itself, no label and HTML box checked. The Span tag (on the form linked above) is in the text area field just above and should appear before the words “words used.”

In reply to: [Form Manager] Possible to limit word count in text areaThanks Samatva. It doesn’t seem to be working for me. I double checked your instructions…made sure the ID is correct in the code I pasted and that the html button is checked. What I’m getting is the code script visible in the form:

Any idea what I might be doing wrong here?
Thanks!

In reply to: [Form Manager] Possible to limit word count in text areaAny possibility for this feature?
Hmm…seems to still be working on my site https://poetrysuperhighway.com/psh/ (any page under the “Links” dropdown menu…but maybe it happened after a plugin update for you? Will keep this in mind in the event mine breaks again.
Cheers,
Rick

In reply to: [Link Library] Great Plugin – Disappointing SupportOne post was indeed an attempt to bump but others were legitimate attempts to follow up with additional info provided. Regardless, perhaps you’re right there. Still not ever receiving an acknowledgement of the question (let along a suggestion, workaround, etc…) was disappointing.
Carol – You’re a superhero! Thanks…just implemented your workaround on my various link library category pages and worked like a charm. Thanks so much!
Rescinding my “same issue here” comment…seems the mail server itself was going slowly…all notifications did arrive.
Same issue here…getting it working intermittently. Using custom notifications…sometimes they go through to user, and administrator…sometimes one or the other…sometimes neither.
Follow up on this. I have 3 links categories. On each link category page I also have links to the other categories as well as a search box. In addition to the issue described in the post above, when I click on one of the links to the other categories, the search still only works from the initial category that I had navigated to. Is there anyway to get the search function to show results from all categories regardless of where the search is initiated from?

In reply to: [Visual Form Builder] [Plugin: Visual Form Builder] Feature RequestHi Matthew,
Just a suggestion. It’s very convenient to have the address block all plugged in at once when building a form, but when exporting data, almost universally (at least every time I’ve ever needed to do so) having the different address components in separate field is kind of essential to be able to work with the data. (Sometimes you need to sort the sort the exported data by zip code for bulk mailing for example.)
So I realize they all are in one field in the database, and my suggestion to you for a future revision to Visual Form Builder, is to change the way it works so those different pieces of the address DO populate different fields in the database.
A workaround is to not use the Address block and to just create those fields separately but it’s not as easy and not as slick looking as what you have when you just plug in the block.
(Same with Captcha…I saw your note in your FAQ about this but it may be worth your while to consider figuring out a way to include one of the more slicker looking captcha methods or something different besides as it looks better and makes the plugin more valuable.)
Thanks again for the plugin. Cheers,
Rick
