In reply to: [Meteor Slides] [Plugin: Meteor Slides] Slide not Showing / Shortcode IssueYour slideshow speed and slideshow duration are both set to 0 – check your settings. Also, I couldn’t see any slides actually being loaded when I viewed your page source – have you added some slides yet?
Hi Josh
When you uninstall, it actually says it will remove the “data” which is a pretty broad term (and could also include the slides) – it might be helpful when you are next tweaking to change the uninstall references to “data” to read “settings” instead.
Hi Josh
You are right, of course! The settings were all blank – I re-did them and all is well again ?? Sorry that I didn’t think of looking at the settings page myself – all my slides and slideshows remained intact throughout my installation -> activation -> deactivation -> deletion of the various versions so I simply didn’t think about checking the global settings page.
Even if the problem wasn’t solved by your aura alone, you still have a great aura ??
Thanks again and cheers
Hi Josh
Well, because I “needed to know” – I just deleted the “old” 1.5 again, and cleared the cache.
I now have the problem back – no cycling and no maps.
I’ll leave it as it is for the moment and hopefully you can come up with a brilliant solution as to why deleting the earlier (de-activated) version of 1.5 stops the show.
Many thanks
Hi Josh
Well, you obviously have a wonderful aura ??
I de-activated the “old” 1.5 and re-activated the “new” 1.5 and everything is now perversely working as it should – slideshows cycle and my maps display!
I also cleared Quick Cache (I had done this several times this morning as well but with no effect then).
I think the only difference between now and when I did all this earlier is that after I installed the “new” 1.5, I not only de-activated but also deleted the “old” 1.5 (so as not to confuse myself down the track). This time I have left the “old” 1.5 installed but de-activated. It doesn’t seem likely to me that the uninstallation affected the slideshows but thought I’d let you know.
Perhaps if I had simply de-activated and immediately re-activated Meteor Slides 1.5 (“new” version) this morning when I started having the problem it would have just come good then?
Anyway, whatever the gremlin was, your aura fixed it – many thanks ??

In reply to: [Meteor Slides] [Plugin: Meteor Slides] 1.5 responsivenessHi Josh
Another satisfied customer using 1.5 here ?? It’s great to be able to return to Meteor Slides now that it is responsive ??
You should read the FAQ ??
https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/basic-google-maps-placemarks/faq/Can I embed more than one map on the same page?
No, the Google Maps JavaScript API can only support one map on a page. The currently-released version of Basic Google Maps Placemarks does not have the ability for the bgmp-list shortcode to filter by categories.
However, version 1.7 rc1 does include this ability – see this thread:
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/plugin-basic-google-maps-placemarks-bgmp-17-testing-and-feedbackIf you use the new version don’t forget to post on that thread to let Ian know how it worked.

Hi Ian
The new shortcode parameters work fine on my map pages, many thanks ??
Cheers

That’s great news about version 1.7 getting closer to release, Ian – I am really looking forward to these two enhancements ?? In the meantime, dumdumsareyum’s modification means my individual maps can now have different center points and zoom levels while I’m waiting (very patiently :-)) for version 1.7.
Hi dumdumsareyum
I just wanted to thank you for sharing your code – I have also been hanging out for this enhancement.
Your modification is working like a dream ??
Cheers

Hi Ian
Many thanks for your advice.
Swapping to TwentyEleven did not help, but after applying a little logical thought I found the offending conflicting plug-in – Post Types Order. I had used it to order my placemarks alphabetically to make them easier to browse. I have de-activated that plug-in and your bgmp-list shortcode now works as expected. Maybe posting about this might help someone else in the future.
For a related question, my theme (Weaver II Pro) gives me the ability via a shortcode to query posts (including custom post types) based on category. I tested it to see if it would return only placemarks from a specified category, but the shortcode ignores the category argument and, in fact, returns the identical “subset” list that I got using your shortcode when the Post Types Order plug-in was activated.
From my reading of this Forum (specifically, your post here) I expect this is related to the custom taxonomy and so just entering the BGMP category slug, eg “nsw”, by itself is not sufficient. Is it possible to reference the BGMP category in some other way eg “bgmp-nsw” (I actually tried that, but it was still ignored)?
Thanks

Hi Ian
That’s great news, thanks for the super-fast implementation – tested and working perfectly ??
Ridgididgi
Thanks, Ian. That’s great, I’ll look forward to this enhancement.
Also, thanks again for being so responsive to suggestions about your plug-in, it is greatly appreciated.
Hi Ian
Here’s the gross example that I alluded to earlier.
I input the latitude and longitude of
-4.915833,-157.5
to position a marker (cruise ship) in the Pacific Ocean. After saving the placemark, these were the latitude and longitude co-ordinates that the plug-in returned
-22.7359095,140.0187653
and the cruise ship marker is on the Australian mainland! In order to get the cruise ship close to where I wanted it, I had to use “Bay of Wreaks, Kiribati” as the address
(which returned this latitude and logitude 1.8616363,-157.3205418)
and give up on using the latitude and longitude co-ordinates I preferred (I actually wanted an “at sea” marker to be “at sea”!).If you look on this map
https://www.polioaustralia.org.au/?page_id=4733
you’ll see two cruise ship markers (you’ll need to zoom out a bit and probably drag the map to the left to see the Kiribati marker). The cruise ship in the Pacific was placed using the Kiribati address above, while the cruise ship on the Australian mainland was placed by attempting to input the -4.915833,-157.5 latitude and longitude directly. As I said earlier, this is a pretty gross example. Other changes to co-ordinates entered directly don’t seem to be as bad, but certainly they are “off” where you entered them enough to be annoying.
Hopefully, being able to override geocoding for latitude and longitude points entered directly will be possible and should solve the issue.
Can you please let me know when you’ve finished looking at my example above because I’d like to remove the land-locked cruise ship before my site visitors wonder what I’m playing at ??
