Autoptimize plugin also adds caching code in .htaccess file. so you should disable browser caching or you can use only Autoptimize plugin.

Mostly caching plugins adds browser caching code so you can use one of them. do not use multiple caching plugin.

It simply adds some code in .htaccess file. that’s it. may be, it happened due to other plugin. tell your developer to check plugin code. your developer can easily understand how it works.

May be, you are already using a cache plugin and it already added expire of static resources. in this case, you will not see any difference.

If you want to define custom expire, you can edit htaccess file. here is a plugin to edit htaccess: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-htaccess-editor/

This plugin does not do anything with JavaScript and CSS so how your slideshow will be disabled and changed color ?

It just adds browser cache code in .htaccess file.

I just tested theme and pages are displaying widgets normally.

There is total three sidebar areas 1. blog sidebar 2. page sidebar 3. WooCommerce sidebar

For pages, you have to drop widgets in page sidebar area instead blog sidebar.

and use widgets, Appearance > Widgets > Page Sidebar.

Deleting plugin using FTP is very easy. simply connect and go to location: \wp-content\plugins\ and delete the plugin folder.
