ok..its working noe…wat was happening was images were getting uploaded in wp-content/uploads folder…while the header was linked to images folder inside the themes folder…so just replaced the original header image with the one i wanted…and then i clicked on restore original…problem solved…but a bug for wordpress guys to solve for!
