Social Metrics does not load any scripts on your posts/pages. Its active only when you access the Social Metrics Dashboard in WordPress admin area. It wont pull any data unless you open the Social Metrics Dashboard.

Please check the PHP memory limit set on your server. If the limit is low, you might see issues in loading the page. In this case, you can either increase the PHP memory limit or reduce the number of posts to display at a time from the Social Metrics settings page.

Sorting, Filtering and selection of networks is part of the Pro version. You can ofcourse test drive it for 30 days as I have 30 days money back guarantee.

By design, the plugin wont show up on the homepage.

Did you mean transparent background?
If you need an opaque background – simply choose required color from the settings page.
If you need a transparent background, you need to edit the file getsocial/lib/getsocialstyles.php accordingly. I will add this option to settings page in future versions. Open the file getsocial/lib/getsocialstyles.php and find the string
.getsocial{width:70px;background:#<?php print $_GET['color']; ?>
and change it to following
.getsocial{width:70px;background:none
save the file. Empty the caches if you are using any caching plugins and you should be all set.

The Social Metrics Settings page is located under the Plugins menu. The Social Metrics Dashboard is located under the WordPress Dashboard menu. You can also access it from WordPress Admin bar.

Haven’t tested it on multisite. You should be able to network activate. Please let me know if it doesn’t. Of course, you can always activate individually.

Good idea. Will keep your inputs in mind for the next release or will put it in a new plugin altogether.

I’d like to be able to have this floating box show links to my RSS feed, my FB profile, my Twitter profile…

I guess putting the sharing links as well as profile links might confuse the visitors. e.g. Follow me on Twitter and Tweet this might have similar icons, share on facebook and like us on facebook would have similar looking icons which I guess might confuse people. What do you say?
