In reply to: Very Slow Admin After Update to 3.8.1My site has run very well using WordPress since 2009…right up until 2012.
During troubleshooting, I deactivated all of my plugins (I only use 17), reverted to the standard theme. optimized my database (which isn’t even all that large), and even did the WordPress reinstall, and my admin pages are still extremely slow.
I’m using W3 Total Cache, WP Smush.it and Cloud Flare…none of which really affect the backend, I know.
Nothing I have done has improved the performance of the backend of my site at all, though the frontend loads quite well now.
I even had my host look at it, and they told me that “a script” I’m running is hogging CPU cycles. When they checked, the only thing running was WordPress, with no plugins, using the standard theme…there MUST be some kind of flaw in WordPress itself, and it had to have been introduced about two years ago, when my site slowed way down.

In reply to: Latest Upgrade Creates Rendering & Header ProblemsSteph’s site (also mine) was probably hacked over a year ago, and we’ve probably just been backing up/restoring the hack along with the site when we “fix” it.
We’re currently in the process of restoring the site again, with fresh copies of everything.
The only “issue” I anticipate is cleaning the db (it has over 2900 posts…at least 90 of which have an iFrame exploit in them….is there some automated way to remove these things from a MySQL db?
I have a similar issue:
A short while after I’ve made changes to some posts (usually formatting changes) the posts revert to the previous format, forcing me to reformat them again.
Is there any way to prevent published posts from being updated?

In reply to: fixing my comments linkHe seems amused that I have an issue with WordPress for which I cannot seem to find a resolution, despite searching/reading everything I could find on the issue prior to posting.

In reply to: comments link not workingWow…nice guy.
I did a search.
I read everything I found on the topic.
I still haven’t seen ANY resolution to this issue.
…and here you are laughing at me, and insulting me.
Nice.
If it matters:
1. I’m running version 2.8
2. The URL to my blog is: https://www.inca69.com/Blog/
3. Mine actually has my header at the top of my homepage.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Getting comments link to workWhile my theme does have missing files, no theme I change to fixes my broken comments links.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: fixing my comments linkSame results here, no matter the theme, my comments links go to my index.html file at the root of my site.

In reply to: comments link not workingSame thing happens to my blog. Click the comments link, and you get my home page.

In reply to: Comments link broken bugMy comments links are all broken too, and merely take me to my index.html file at the root of my site.
I have a similar problem (sidebar and contents of page don’t load, but header does without its text). Tried this solution, but it didn’t work.
Any other ideas?
