You are right: the popup does not appear on my computer either. This is probably a theme issue. You should contact your theme developer as the website is rendering differently on mobile and desktop devices.

    Hi there,

It seems like it could be an issue with the display settings. Could you please try the following:
    1. Display Settings -> Show this popup as, check both ‘Time-delayed popup’ and ‘Exit-intent popup’. Set the time delay to 30 seconds.
    2. Display Settings -> Show this popup on which posts/pages? -> Check ‘Show for all pages’
    3. Make sure NO (0) page and NO (0) post is selected for ‘Except for these posts/pages’
    4. Display Settings -> How to stop showing this popup, set ‘Show popup every’ to 14 days
    5. Make sure NO (0) page is selected for ‘Thank you page after signing-up’
    6. Open an Incognito (Chrome) or Private Browsing (Firefox) window, and go to your site. You should see the popup now after the delay and/or exit-intent. (See section 4.b of the tutorial for screenshots https://ambitionally.com/popupally/tutorials/)

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Katie,

Thank you for informing us of this issue! Unfortunately, PopupAlly does not deal with Front Page that shows blog posts that well at the moment. What happens is that PopupAlly thinks the page is showing the posts, but as you did not select the popup to show for posts, it is not shown.

A workaround for now is in addition to selecting ‘All Pages’, you can also select ‘All Posts”. This will make sure the popup appears on all pages/posts, including the front page.

We will add this bug to our development queue and it should be corrected in the next release that allows for you to specifically select ‘Front Page’

    Best,

    Hi there,

The symptoms you are describing could be due to caching by a plugin or your host.

Caching speeds up the performance of your site, but it has the side-effect that changes on the backend might not show up immediately on the front end. This could result in the confusing situation you are seeing.

If you want to see the change immediately, you can look for an option to clear the cache.

When I went on your website, I do not see PopupAlly enabled. If the popup is still not working, could you please enable a popup for a page and send us the URL?

    Hi Neil,

The issue seems to be that you have set the front page (https://freestop.info) as the Thank You page. The impact of that is once you have be shown the front page, the popup will never appear again. Also, the time-delay for popup #1 is set to -1 seconds, which disables the popup, as the delay needs to be a non-negative number.

Here is how to correct it:

    1. In PopupAlly -> Display Settings, under section ‘How to stop showing this popup’, uncheck the front page.

    2. In PopupAlly -> Display Settings, for Popup #1, change the time delay to something other than -1 (for example, 5 seconds would be a good time)

    3. (You might need to create a simple Thank you page) Only select the thank you page in that section. Thank you page is a page that only subscribers will see after signing up.

    4. Your theme’s javascript file is interfering with the popup logic. Once I removed the ‘frontend.js’ script, exit intent and time-delayed popup functions properly. As I was testing, the file is showing an error saying ‘hoverIntent’ throws an exception, so that would be a good place to start.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi there,

Unfortunately, we do not provide integration with MailPoet at the moment. We will add it to the list of feature requests. Thank you very much for the suggestion!

    Hi Anmol,

The error is likely caused by the server running an old version of PHP. You should contact your hosting support to have it updated. I would recommend getting on Live Chat (if available) with support and ask them:
    1. What version of PHP is the WordPress installation currently running
    2. If the number is lower than 5.3, ask them to update it to 5.3 or 5.4
After that is done, PopupAlly should work properly. Unfortunately, it is unrealistic for us to retro-fit the plugin for all versions of PHP, so I have to suggest you to update your server. As a side benefit, there will be small performance increase once the PHP update is done.

    Hi Matt,

That means the integration code you pasted in is not being parsed properly. We have not seen this problem before, so I appreciate your patience in helping us resolve it.

If you wouldn’t mind, could you please try a few things:
    1. When you paste in the sign-up code, could you open ‘Developer Mode’ (in Chrome or Firefox), and see if there is any Javascript errors? If there is, could you please send us the error?
    2. Could you please send us the MailChimp sign up code? Maybe it is not well-formed.
    3. Could you try editing the style settings using a different browser? As it is a Javascript issue, a different browser could help.

Feel free to email us at [email protected] if that is more convenient for you.

    Hi Matt,

There are a couple things you can check:
    1. Are the ‘Name Field’ and ‘Email Field’ configured under PopupAlly -> Style Settings -> Integration settings? For MailChimp, the mapping should probably be ‘Name Field’ => ‘FNAME’ and ‘Email Field’ => ‘EMAIL’ (for more details, see the tutorial page https://ambitionally.com/popupally/tutorials/)
    2. MailChimp usually needs double opt-in, which means the visitor will get an email asking for confirmation after signing up through the popup. The contact will only show up on the MailChimp list after clicking on the confirmation link in the email. Could you check whether you received the first confirmation email after clicking the subscribe button?

If neither of these applies, could you please send me the link where you have the popup enabled? I can take a look and help you resolve the issue.

    Hi Anmol,

That is an error we have never seen before. It could be due to interaction with existing scripts, but we cannot be certain without more data.

If it is not too much trouble, could you please
    1. Create a new page for testing
    2. Enable the popup just for that page
    3. Post the link to the test page or send to [email protected]

We will get it resolved as soon as possible!

    Robin
