In reply to: [Protected Posts Logout Button] Cookie expiring time not working properlyHi Nate,
Thanks for getting back to me, I really appreciate it. Forgive me, but I’m not very technically minded, can you dumb down the second paragraph of your answer for me?
Are the WP Heartbeat API and the WP AJAX plugins or tools? And what is an action listening on the server?
If you could please clear this up for me, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] XML Sitemaps not working properly in Yoast SEOSo if I press the “fix it” button it won’t affect the website or current site map?
My concern is if I press the “fix it” button it might the website or current site map similarly to how sometimes certain plugin updates can cause technical problems.

In reply to: News Archive not workingHi Michael,
Thanks for the reply, however I don’t have the editor option in my theme in the Appearance section for some unknown reason.
Another update, I’ve managed to find the way to put the Latest News widget on my page but now there’s another problem of my links being white on a white background and try as I might to change the colour, I can’t. Anyone got any suggestions on how to change a hyperlink colour without using the .css? Are there any plugins that could help with this? I’m not using the TwentyFourteen theme so that relevant plugin won’t help.
Thank you.

In reply to: News Archive not workingUpdate. I’ve done some trial and error and discovered that the IT guy the news archive is essentially a template on a page.
I’ve found that my ‘Latest News’ widget publishes the latest news articles on the home page like it is supposed to and I would like to put that widget on a page, however it doesn’t seem to be working. Any suggestions on how to insert the widget onto the page? On our events page, we have an events plugin and event list widget and the widget shows up on the page by having the shortcode [event-list] on the page, however I can’t see a shortcode for the Latest News widget. Any suggestions?

In reply to: Appearance module plug inHi James, thanks for the advice, I believe I am the administrator as I have the admin logo.
Would changing or recovering my password really solve my problem and the appearance tab reappear? Because it’s still the same account whether I change or recover the password or not.

In reply to: Theme options and admin accessThanks for replying. I didn’t build the website, however I was given a manual which had the admin login.
I’m curious what different access levels have different permissions?

In reply to: Appearance module plug inI was giving the admin logo when I first started my job. I do vaguely remember seeing my menus, the previous employee did have this access, I’m not sure if I’ve deleted it by accident.
Is it possible to create another admin account?

In reply to: Theme options and admin accessI’m using the login I was given with the WordPress website manual which was admin. However, how can I check that I have admin access in my profile?
