Looks like it’s a system-level issue. I just saw a sudo command get a memory error.

When cleaning up open tabs, I did find some misplaced error popups scattered around other tabs for the same site. I was expecting the Import Folder errors to appear on the same tab where I was importing.

I’ve heard that they intend to fix this in the future, but I’ve stopped monitoring that other discussion because this plugin is presently useless to me. It seems to have a design philosophy of having several requirements, but not making the status of those requirements visible to us, and stopping working when the requirements are not met. Not good for a disaster and recovery tool.

The error went away when in “CloudFlare Domain Name” I entered the domain name which is associated with the account. Apparently I’m not supposed to enter the subdomain for the site which I’m editing.

Huh. Today, first time that I logged into the site, I could see the list of backups. I refreshed, and am now again getting the warning about too little space remaining and the list of backups is not being shown.

I manually deleted some backups, and the plugin still thinks I don’t have enough room. I’m only using 67% of the disk space.

I am also still seeing this issue with 3.6.1. The list of backups is not shown after the warning message, so can’t use the plugin’s admin screen to download nor delete backups.

It would also be nice to be able to have an “OR” option for tags, for sites which have several tags which mark the same type of content — such as some pages from a CMS, and some pages from other scripts.

Something such as “MainContent | Results”.

• The daily database-only backup spins for 2-3 seconds, then does not list any backups. The backup directory has no data files in it.
• Files-only backup spins for 3 seconds, then does not list any backups. The backup directory has no data files in it.
• Excluding uploads also behaves the same. I notice that in the Excludes page, the size column of all directories shows the spinner instead of the size. Apache running as www-data.www-data and backup dir has w permission.
• No plugin conflicts. Running default theme.

I noticed that Apache2 at startup was whining about sendmail being missing. Installed sendmail.
Backups began working. Apparently this plugin has a dependency upon email, even if no email address is listed — and if an email address is listed but email can no be sent the plugin does not complain.
Plugin seems to need to report more errors.

Okay, so at present the plugin can personalize instead of target. I can’t aim at a specific target, all I can do is hang a magical banner welcoming everyone from [your city here].

I’ll look for a different tool, because I can’t wait for this tool to have the abilities which I need right now. Future readers, check the description to see what the plugin supports at the time you’re reading this.

To search for similar plugins, it looks like the following is a good search term: rss post import

Including “post” and “import” avoids seeing plugins which only display RSS feeds.

“Not only does this WordPress RSS Aggregator Plugin import a snippet of the rss feed, it automatically imports the entire Full Text RSS Feed , allowing you to post the entire article on your site if you want.”

This phrasing is confusing, but if the RSS feed is a “Full Text RSS Feed”, the free version of the plugin apparently can post the full text which is supplied in the RSS feed.

If the RSS feed only has partial information, then there is an extra-cost service available which will try to fetch the original content.

The plugin description should be clarified, so people know what to expect, and so they won’t waste their time (and affect the ratings) if the plugin does not do what it seems to say it will.

The WordPress edit page shows my home page’s URL is just the domain name, but when accessing the home page it is shown as being at /wpematico/13357/. Even though the plugin has been disabled.

Disabling the WPeMatico plugin does allow my home page to again be accessed.
