I see a “Birthright…” label over the header image. What are the “two pieces of text” which are not visible, and what is the desired result?

No, the site will be within a museum and not on the Internet. And I mentioned that I’m referring to the Weaver theme. Weaver lets me choose templates for pages, and I’m using the Blank template on this problematic page.

Most of the pages use the usual Weaver decorations, but a few pages need to not have the headers and such. I turned off the headers and such on those pages, but there is empty space at the top that I can’t use. Looks like it’s about 40px.

Any hints of how to create regular expressions so we can use “Replace” with non-alphabetic characters? I think preg_replace() is being used, but my regex incantations seem to not work.

So, is there something which is more blank than the Blank template? I’d like to use more of my screen real estate.

Of course, I meant that I don’t see anything in the top of the BODY which is ahead of my first item. So I don’t see what is causing the gap at the top of my page.

On the Settings>General page are two site URLs. See if they both have www. at the beginning or not.

Which thing is the “strange display”? Your page https://www.singpetra.com/events/activities/ is one thing that can be called a “display”, clicking on a thumbnail shows a static slideshow which can also be called a “display”, and clicking on the labeled slideshow link produces an animated slideshow which is a third “display”.

Not only do we not know what “display” you are talking about, please describe what is “strange” so we know what is behaving differently than you expect. Different browsers (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Opera) show things differently, and even the size of the browser window can make things look different.

Which part is the “strange display”? The slideshow looks OK, other than some images being taller than others. The main page shows individual pictures in whatever way your web browser decides to arrange them, but is NextGen Gallery creating that page of pictures? In the HTML, I only see a bunch of IMG tags, so the web browsers decide how to arrange them.

Apparently Error 1090 can also be triggered by an error in an XML file. In my case, I caused it when I added a new preset — and I had put a comma between two attributes instead of using a space.

I noticed some work has been done on an XMLRPC interface. Is it functional for image updates? I don’t see XMLRPC listed in the features.

I see that the Weaver theme has for each page things called “page-pre-header-code” and “page-header-insert-code”. I wonder if the Better Backgrounds “Developer” mode would work with that. Maybe “<img src='<?=background_image();?>’ />” can be inserted in those Weaver per-page fields. That might allow per-page control over the existence of a background, though not which backgrounds. If background_image() accepts parameters, such as a gallery name or ID, then there might be per-page control of which backgrounds should appear.

I suspect that the slideshow addon that you’re using does not distinguish between titles and descriptions, and is only showing the title. I’ve added and bought the “NEXTGEN Monoslideshow” plugin, and have configured it to show both over my slides.

I think that depends upon the slideshow tool that you use. I think the WordPress “gallery” shortcode doesn’t show descriptions — not sure whether it even shows titles. Various slideshow tools have various ways of configuring whether they show titles or descriptions, or other navigation options. JW Image Rotator and Monoslideshow have different configuration options.

Working for me. When logged in as an admin, I see a sidebar menu for Gallery. That includes a “Add Gallery/Images” option as well as a “Manage Gallery” option. In “Add Gallery”, there is a tab for adding a gallery; maybe your theme doesn’t show it. On “Manage Gallery” there is a button for adding a gallery.
