Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Team Showcase] The ‘team-showcase’ namespace issueCarlos – Thanks for posting this! All of our staff team disappeared, and I couldn’t figure out what had happened, and why the plugin was generating completely different short codes. It took a while, and no small bit of panic, to figure this out and get it resolved. I realized I had the plugin on another subdomain and that one was still in its original form, so I was able to migrate it over to the main site and get it working again. But that was after testing database backups a month old and all sorts of other stuff. Yes, themepoints, PLEASE work with Carlos to find a solution to this. Your plugin hijacked another one, inadvertently, of course.
No, I had already tried that, and that doesn’t fix the issue.
I’m having the same issue. See here: https://www.crumc.org/mobile-events-list/
Everything is latest version. Anxious to see the reply.
Disregard. It says there are no upcoming events because, um, there are no upcoming events. #facepalm
As a follow-up – I applied the functions.php fix that worked for people having trouble with the Divi theme, and this fixed it in the Admin side of things. But still, nothing displays on the website pages. It simply says, “No upcoming events.” But at least the events are showing up in the admin now, so I know the data is still there.
Thanks, Angelo.
So, knowing it’s outside of the scope of support from EM, is there anyone in this community forum who has done this and could walk me through how to do this? I know it may be asking a lot, and may not be that easy. I’m just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping this has been done before.
RESOLVED! WP Fastest Cache plugin was causing the problems. I tried every option with the plugin, even excluding events.ics, but still, the only thing that worked was disabling it completely. So I’ll just go look for another caching plugin. Thanks for the help!
Thanks for writing back, Angelo. YES – I think you’re onto something.
So, here’s what’s weird: When I download events.ics and open it in a text reader, the last 2 lines are:
END:VEVENT
END:VCALENDARBut when the URL is used with the iCal Validator (and, I’m guessing, with the other feed readers), that “html corrupted” tag shows up at the end of the last line.
I’m not using any EM template. I wonder what’s causing that to be added… Let me take a stab at disabling some plugins and see if something would be making that happen. I’m guessing this is what we’d call “unexpected behavior”, huh? Doesn’t seem like a problem anyone else has had. Hmmm. I’ll see if I can discover why it might be happening. Thanks for the insight! Let me know if you have any other thoughts.

Anyone? Any thoughts? I’m adding an iPhone app that will have a calendar. Making it work with our website’s calendar is key, so we don’t have to enter events in two places.
The validator didn’t work. The Mac Calendar didn’t work. Google Calendar didn’t work. All say that the data can’t be read, for some reason. I don’t know anything about code, so as I’ve looked through the .ics file, I see stuff, but nothing that indicates a problem, at least to my untrained eyes. Could anybody check out https://crumc.org/events.ics and see if anything looks off?
I don’t think I’ve modified any templates, but I’ve done a lot on this site, and haven’t always kept notes on every modification. Is there a specific template file that I should check? One that might affect the iCal feed?
I checked it with the validator too, before doing my post above. If I use crumc.org/events.ics, I get the following:
Sorry, your calendar could not be parsed.
Error: Error was: Error at line 13054: Expected [VCALENDAR], read [VCALENDAR]
Cause:Am I doing something wrong where you’re able to get it to work in the validator and I’m not? I’ve also tried using my Mac’s Calendar app to pull the calendar in, and also Google Calendar, and both report that it can’t be read. Under Events -> Settings -> Formatting, I’ve changed the iCal limit from 0 to 30 and that didn’t make a difference (it’s back at 0 now.)
Any other thoughts? Thanks, Angelo, for taking a look already.
I’m thankful for this forum. I’ve got the Full Calendar bug too – nothing past the first week of May is showing. Looking forward to the update! Thanks for being on it! I’ll re-install an old version in the meantime.
Does it work with the Full Calendar plugin disabled?
I’m having the exact same problem. Events only go up to May 7 on the Full Calendar (using the Full Calendar plugin). Without the Full Calendar plugin, things are fine.
To check it out: https://crumc.org/connect/events/full-calendar/
I’ve been disabling caching, security, other plugins, trying to find anything that might be causing this. So far, no luck.
The solution I mentioned above is no longer working after the latest update. Grrrrr. Frustrating.
This thread has the solution at the very end. Perhaps a “cleaner” fix than the javascript above.
All recurring posts had to be re-saved, but fortunately not re-created. Just open them and then click “Update”.
