In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] Add custom Social icon to Twenty Seventeen@oliverquimbywp I found a workaround that allowed me to do what I wanted to do – albeit in a slightly hacky way!
I installed the Plugin AccessPress Social Icons, which allows you to create sets of various social and other icons. These sets are predefined by the Plugin and the plugin does not allow for custom icons. Don’t panic.
If you can access your installation via ftp, you can navigate to the plugin folder where the icons are stored and replace one of the icons you’ll never use with one of your own, keeping the original icons name – I think in my case I replaced MySpace and a couple of other essentially defunct social networks. As far as I remember, the icons are PNG’s
Then, you build your icon set from within the plugin, using whichever icon you’ve replaced. After a little trial and error and a lot of cache emptying/refreshing your new icons should be visible.
It’s clunky, hacky and dirty I know… but it does work!
Cheers, Rob

In reply to: [Twenty Seventeen] Add custom Social icon to Twenty SeventeenThanks Andrew for the swift response.
Certainly it’s important to the client to change the icon.
Forgive my miscommunication re sprites/svg’s.
Does my simplistic plan not hold water then? Are the SVG’s not local to my WordPress installation?
Surely if they are and I can locate for instance the Instagram icon, and amend it to my new design, the system should then pull in that amended SVG instead of the original Instagram one?
Alternatively… can I maybe lose the Twenty Seventeen integrated Social Icons altogether and replace with alternate versions from a plugin that would allow customisation?

In reply to: Domain name not showing in address barHmmm – I’ve already repointed the nameservers and already migrated to the new hosting and pointed the “external” domain to the site on the new server.
I’ve done exactly the same process on another site, external domain also, and it’s working fine and displaying the correct URL. Only difference being that didn’t begin life as a multisite.
Would changing the site address in General > Settings do the trick? Could it be as simple as that? Will it mess anything up if I change it?!

In reply to: Domain name not showing in address barThanks Jacob, both are set to https://s639444767.websitehome.co.uk/
So I guess I just change both of those to transenduro.co.uk?
Hi there.
Thanks, I’ve updated the plugin and now all I see on the Plugin dashboard (or any of the other plugin functions) is a blank screen.
Hi Brandon
Thanks for the response – already had a query “pending” with my host who’ve now come back and said yes, they do block the xmlrpc.php file for security reasons which I assumed was the case.
I’d already installed the rename xmlrpc plugin and renamed the file etc but with no luck. The odd thing is, I have another blog site, https://www.transenduro.co.uk, hosted with the same hosting company (although on a different package) on the same type of server and it runs Jetpack absolutely fine. It does have the rename xmlrpc plugin “fix” on it also but is working ok.
Anything else I could try?
Thanks, Rob
sorry, posted in the wrong place – please remove
Hi again.
Still no luck! Anything else I can try?
Thank you
Hi there – any update on this, I’m still experiencing the same issue.
I’ve had to turn off the PayPal payments for now which is not ideal – is there any chance of a solution?
Thanks.
Hello again.
I’ve updated to v2.1 and am unfortunately still experiencing the same Paypal issue.
“PayPal Error: TLSv1Express check out API call failed”
Any chance of a solution to this?

In reply to: [Pinpoint Booking System - #1 WordPress Booking Plugin] Discount PercentagesApologies, here’s a link so you can better understand my question:
https://www.surreygreenlanetours.co.uk/book-online-now/
If you select one of the available dates, then use the dropdown “How many riders?” you’ll see where I would like to hide the percentage. It would also then make sense to be able to hide the percentage in the section below, “Total riders”.
Many thanks, Rob
Still no luck.
If this problem does not exist in the PRO version then I am happy to buy it – I was going to purchase after the upgrade anyway as I think you have a great product.
However, I need to know I won’t have this issue if I upgrade!
Hello again!
Thanks for your replies and help on the problems I’m having on https://www.surreygreenlanetours.co.uk/book-online-now/I have been in touch with my hosting company and have established that cURL v 7.42.1 is already running on the server.
Would you have any other suggestions as to why it wouldn’t be working?
Thank you.
Also, now I’m back on v1.4, I don’t seem to be able to access the setup screen to check/change the API settings…
Hmmm. Really need this working again.
I’ve rolled back to version 1.4, but the PayPal function is now just hanging on a blank page once I submit the form.
Any solutions please?
