Great, that’s an excellent first step! I appreciate it being added to your backlog. In the meantime I’ll patch it myself but I hope that, when you next release this plugin, it includes such a feature so that I can migrate to it. Cheers!

Thank you! That’s an awesome improvement. Now everybody everywhere gets the benefit of that performance improvement; I’ve installed the update on my staging site to test it out and it looks good.

As you can see, New Relic showed a significant increase in the performance of the query, it has basically disappeared from the slow db queries list:

This downtime for this service has also broken the Administration section of my WordPress website.

It was making there be massive wait-times before pages would load inside of WordPress Admin. This was discovered by NewRelic:
