Ignore my last question – I had entered the translations in a de_CH file and the site was de_DE. All sorted.

I do have some remaining issues, however.

The “fill out this field” tooltip that appears as a validation error if a required field is not entered on the form is not available for translation in the po file and so cannot be translated.. Any idea how I can translate these and substitute this?

Did you hear back about the German translation? I’ve just tried to translate some of the entries myself using loco translate but I’m not seeing any of my translations. If there was an “official” German translation that would be great – equally great would be if I knew which folder the po and mo files need to be saved in to work with this plugin!

After just updating Jetpack, the form has magically started working. Hoping it stays that way as I have no idea what the conflict was!

Having said that: @muhdragab: I just updated Jetpack and the form now seems to be magically working. Try this on your site if you still have issues!

esmi – thank you, I did that. I considered it also ok to post on this thread to let muhdragab know that there are others with the issue.

PS: I’m NOT looking for a plugin that translates content automatically – I simply need a plugin that supports the concept of multilingual sites and pages with different languages, and provides a language switcher. Polylang does this. It just breaks the Jetpack contact form

Thanks Augustin, but you can probably also understand that I’d like to know why this is not working and be able to use the existing investment I’ve made in installing and setting things up – and not have to spend too much time reworking the site several times while I work through different plugin options.

Same problem here. I’ve deactivated polylang and am looking at alternatives. Not happy to have to do that, as I’ve set up pages etc already, but…

Yes, it was a JavaScript conflict with Polylang. As I need to implement this site in 2 languages, I now need to find an alternative plugin to support this bilingual content and language switching…
