I started routing emails from WP through a Gmail account. That was a quick-fix, but I’ve also noticed that emails from Sparkpost are now getting through to my Exchange server, so I might trial it a bit more and switch back to sending email from WordPress directly to Exchange via Sparkpost ??

As far as I can see, the plugin does what it says it does.

Does it enable you to add pages after or inside a page? Yes

Does it enable you to add multiple pages at once? Yes

Does it enable you to search pages? Yes – and it highlights the search terms!

It it available for both regular pages and custom posts? Yes

Does it work with both hierarchical and non-hierarchical post types? Yes

I don’t think your review is fair on the plugin authors. You obviously have no appreciation for the time and effort the authors have ‘invested’ in this project.

Try installing Query Monitor. It should help isolate the issue somewhat. It could be a slow database query, or slow HTTP requests.
