The thumbnail actually is clicked from the local servers which have a cached image of the page. Since there is no human accessing the page the cached image is served to the bot. The sites’ cache is what makes the image update after 24hrs. Sorry but the system is not capable of doing this.

Though Meta keywords are accepted by Google but there are other search engines which don’t read them and consider them comments. The plugin has been optimized for Google and Facebook look-up template to provide the best results. So, I don’t think there will be a problem.

You cannot do that not for a reason that the plugin is incapable but WordPress doesn’t allow it. The “featured-image” has to be saved on the server for resizing purposes.

It is sometimes the site that makes the bots go – ‘time-out’. Since CNN is some of the majar sites it does have security protocols. I have modified the bot for better performance. Sorry I took me a month to response. But it’ll now work.
