Thanks Drew, I checked the theme’s index php file. I didn’t recognize anything in it! newby here
Dashboard settings: I use date/title format that is offered as a checkbox option. I toggled them a little, and set them back where I wanted. No help.
Anyway, that can’t be the problem, I don’t think, because every other link updated correctly, except for home/index. There is something not right with index, I just don’t know what.

In reply to: Can't upload to Media libraryI’m having the same trouble as you Ann-Sophie. My third WP site and the first time I am having this trouble. But from what I have read, 777 is unsafe and should be avoided. Let’s watch each others’ threads for a better answer.

In reply to: Unable to create directory /home/…/public_html/wp-content/uploadsSo does anyone know if I need to update something in the database? I have tried everything I know and have read about here so far, and can’t get it to work.
Thanks, anyone!

In reply to: Unable to create directory /home/…/public_html/wp-content/uploadsOkay, so the theme uploaded nicely.
Now I still get the same issue when wanting to upload photos, or likely any media.
Do we think this is a permissions issue, or a path issue?
On permissions, I have set them to 755 for the wp-content folder. as to paths, I can’t figure out where to correct this. Do I need to go into database? Where?
Thanks all.

In reply to: Unable to create directory /home/…/public_html/wp-content/uploadsHey Maoski Potatohead,
Thanks for the help. I was trying it from within admin (appearances/themes) but that was where I was getting the error message. I took your advice and loaded the theme files via FTP (I didn’t know where to put them) and it worked!!!
Thanks a mil bro, really appreciate it! This is all kinda new to me.

A friend at work helped my fix it by doing a manual upgrade. Thanks for your help–it was a learning experience.

In reply to: 3.1 upgrade–admin blew up. Fatal error messageThanks esmi–is all you need to do to change the theme renaming the folders?
Still, I was hoping someone could help me respond to precisely what the error message was.
Thanks,

In reply to: Problem after 3.1 upgradeSwapTribe,
Thanks for the feedback–I noticed that too. The pages seem to work, some issues with formatting, and the URLs are a mess. But it’s more or less up… and I didn’t do anything to fix it. I just can’t navigate in the admin. always the same fatal error message as above.
So I’m still up the creek… Do I have to reinstall and start again? I have a back up of the site and it’s not huge anyway. And like I said, I was going to switch themes to a Woo Theme.
Thanks

In reply to: Problem after 3.1 upgradeThis upgrade killed my website too!
https://hydeparkmainstreets.com
I was using Simple Indy (https://www.ads-software.com/extend/themes/simple-indy). I don’t remember the version of WP I was using before, but it was probably two or three versions back. The site had a lot of plugins. It was built by someone else and I’m the new guy on the project supposed to upgrade the version of WP, switch themes, and do some other mods.
I knew something was wrong when the upgrade took more than 30 seconds. It never got past “unpacking update”. Now, the website says its down for maintenance, and I cannot reach the admin pages, all I get is this message:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function is_network_admin() in /home/hydepark/public_html/wp-admin/admin-header.php on line 16
I have no idea what the heck that means.
Any ideas and help appreciated–I am getting paid to make this site work and I’m in a bit over my head at the moment. I’ve done this a few times before and it’s usually so easy!

In reply to: what is this new #awp:: stuff at the end of all my URLS!Thanks for your response esmi–
Uggh, I am about to switch themes too to a Woo theme. Not sure I can get a fresh copy of the current one, its kinda janky. Why I’m switching.
I wonder now when I do upload the new Woo theme, will those things stay? and should I go ahead and update to 3.0.5 or will that create a wreckage? I’m kinda new to all this.
