Hello,

did you create your app on your in your local WP installation or did you create it with create-react-app manually in the console? The latter doesn’t work unfortunately.

Just to be clear, you have to create your react app from the WP admin.

Did you open your developer tools and see any error messages? Are there any js-files linked in the source code of your page. Similar to /wp-content/plugins/reactpress/apps/[appname]/build/static/js/runtime-main.63c6e12a.js?ver=1?

It would be great to for other users to know, what environments work. Especially operating system and local WP environment.

Hi Paul,

I played around with OSX in a VM. It tried several solutions, including Mamp Pro and it seems to me, that they all don’t have access to Node because they run as administrator – but that is only me guessing, I don’t know much about Macs.

What you could try, is using Laravel Homestead. It is a VM with Ubuntu installed.

I don’t know if MAMP Pro allows that. Maybe you can ask their support, it is a paid product after all. Do you use it on a Mac or on Windows?

I use the Bitnami installer for WordPress on Ubuntu. It has access to node from the host machine.

I would second @sterndata, use a default WordPress theme, that is pretty new and that looks similar to what you want to achieve.

If you want a totally blank theme, start with underscores.
