@jordesign don’t get it twisted now. Just because I dislike drugs doesn’t mean I love alcohol.

I use WP mostly for writing and editing content for myself or others, that’s why my main complaint is about the post editor. And I can say that you need to be a masochist to try and write an article with those hideous and unintuitive blocks.

However, on the rare occasion I create and design a website, I for sure don’t use the Gutenberg page builder. Most of the times I don’t even bother with page builders since I don’t need them for niche blog sites, but if I want to create a landing page I use Elementor (free version).

Recently I changed the hosting provider and decided to create a website from scratch instead of just copy-pasting the old version. So I thought to myself – why don’t I give Gutenberg another chance since it’s already forced on the new installation.
And I did give it a chance. Had terrible experience with it and ditched it, immediately installed the disable Gutenberg and Classic Editor plugins. Then used Elementor to design some pages.

This prompted me to leave a review. And it turns out I already have an account that I haven’t used in years. But the best part is that apparently this account was created nearly 5 years ago to complain how terrible Gutenberg is lmao.

5 years and nothing has changed, same issues, same complaints (from thousands of users).

If Gutenberg is so great, why don’t you leave it as an official WP recommended editor/builder for people to use, why make it part of the core? But you very well know how bad it is that the only way for someone to use it is by forcing the editor/builder on them.

Genuine question @jordesign – are you a bot or a real person? Because this reply is word to word exactly how I expected it to be lmao

    > If you could point to 2-3 specific features that you didn’t like

Specific features? Nothing specific because EVERYTHING about it is terrible.

    >we could use your feedback to generally improve the plugin.

Sure, make Gutenberg optional for masochists to use and leave the rest alone.

Look, if you want WordPress to be a page builder then just say it. Don’t pretend to be a platform for bloggers and content creators.

Have you even tried to write a blog with 3 thousand words or more? The layout is unintuitive, unnecessarily complicated, buggy, it can lose your hard work, and so on. Don’t ask me for specific examples (I know you’ll do this) because thousands of users before me have already made the same complaints with examples, screenshots and what not but you people just don’t care.

If your goal is to chase away content creators from WP then congratulations I guess because you are succeeding.

After hours of trying to fix the problem I found that also the Rocket Loader from Cloudflare was causing problems with the javascript. I also turned off the advanced settings for Javascript in the Autoptimize plugin and now the ads are there.

Glad that I can use the plugin once again, I love it. Will fix my review to 5 stars now (Y)

But how can I exclude amazon ads from being blocked from Autoptimize? How can I make an exception for them.
I have read this thread and tried to implement it but it doesn’t work for me.

I really want to use the plugin because its boosting my speed like a madman but I must disable it because of the amazon native ads not showing up.

The plugin makes everything worse for people who create 1000+ or even 2000+ words per blog or article. If you can use it to make 2,000 word post doesn’t mean that others can.

We want simplicity and the classic editor gives us that.
I for example only use simple headings, normal roboto text, sometimes a youtube video and rarely insert pictures into posts. And now instead of doing all of this with one click I have to do additional two or three and still won’t get it right.
Also, how do I even use the Text option in a post? Was looking it for 10 minutes.

Just writing a post with gutenberg is a nightmare, even the writing box looks small and hideous. And I don’t want to add new blocks for new paragraphs. Simple ENTER is just fine, ok?

Listen to your users and delete this abomination from the core of WordPress. I don’t want adding plugins to disable a “feature” that I nor millions of other uses did not ask for!

Hi and thanks for the fast reply.

I uninstalled the plugin and installed it again yesterday and everything seems to be working fine now. It was most likely a problem from my side, but luckily its working now.

Thanks for the answer by the way, great plugin ??
