thanks for the support. i will go for the first option. adding a new column. searching for the word important in the live search box provided would filter the important rows. i dont think there will be any need for custom JS code.
if in future you find any good solution for this please post here so that i can get to know

i was thinking of some work arounds for this situation. heres what i thought of
1. i can simply create a new column “imp” with 2 entries “yes” “no”
sorting with yes will get all the imp entries
2. or i can simply add *** to one of the cells on the imp row. searching for *** would get the important entries

can you find a simple manual solution like this which is easy to implement. i dont want to manually edit that much of data

once again thank you for the quick response. that extension solved my problem. but on an additional note, the extension did not add the column on its own. instead it replaced the data on my first column with the row numbers.
i inserted an empty column at the starting. and that fixed the issue. this should be mentioned on the extension page

update : i found the solution
i browsed throught the support and read a post where it said that pasting the short code in the visual editor was not same as pasting the short code in the text editor.
till now i was doing it on the visual editor.
i just deleted everything from the visual editor and pasted the code on in text editor and it worked perfect.

on the other hand
i had created a backup on the day i installed the plugin. and after i updated the plugin the backup was lost. not a problem for me. but just letting you know. you could fix this problem as well coz if updating the plugin would erase your old backups that could be an issue

btw superb plugin you have developed. it will help so many people. will it do a complete backup? i mean even the widgets, custom css, plugins, etc?

thats sad. but i found that the posts and pages had been just moved to trash. its all there. i have to rebuild my menus, widgets and other stuff. the sad thing is that all my custom css and designs have been lost

it seems to work fine in posts but in page it seems to be broken. can u plz check this issue.
