I like your logo graphic! Do you also have the company name text repeated above the logo for a reason? If not, I think you could emit it and keep the reader focused.

I agree that there needs to be better separation between the content and sidebar, whether it’s spacing or a background.

How about another column that features how to tie the most common tie knots, up where visitors don’t have to scroll down to see it. I would think you could draw in lots of visitors who google “how to tie a tie” and find your videos right up there at the top of your blog.

I understand the constellation background, but it does make it a little hard to read the white text. Also, I’m in IE7 and I have to scroll down to see the embedded video. I’d think you’d want people to see the video immediately. Maybe have your text in one or two columns on either side and your video in the center?

I like the theme a lot. Very easy to concentrate on and read the content.

I’m new to all this…I’d like to put more podcasts on my blog and like the way an MP3 menu reads across each post: “play now,” “play in pop up” “down load.” Is that a specific plug in I can get or part of your theme?

I think you’re on to something with a business magazine aimed at women. I’m new to online publishing though, so I can’t give much technical advise. I might chose a different template/theme though. This one seems a little flat and the text wrap around the images is too close.

It’s an attractive site overall. I do think the roll over links under About and Catagories are a little clunky, not matching anything else. And there’s a “stay” versus “say” typo in the first few sentences on your about page. (I’m way better at proof reading then designing pages!)

I’m enjoying browsing through the WP pages posted here and yours is really nice.

I think the theme fits your content really well. I like the interview scheme. Did you create the header yourself?

wow. i’m just starting out in WP and online publishing. I can see that I’m using less than one percent of what’s available! Your example makes it hard for me to want to take it slow and pace myself.

    I like it!

I like the color against the bacground. It’s not immediately obvious that you provide a service, but that probably doesn’t matter if you’re sending prospective clients to your websites through other marketing efforts.

I like that you have all your online profiles listed in one place. I need to follow your lead.

At first it appears that there is no content in the middle column, but then it turns out it’s just slow to load. Don’t know if it’s my system, or the site. When it came up, I read the article on making money on-line and it made me consider advertising on my blog. Your other articles cover a lot of terms that no one has ever taken the time to explain to me, a relative amateur when it comes to hardware and online stuff. So that’s a plus!

I would suggest some more color for the site though. Gray is good, but one other color would set the site off nicely, I think. That’s my two cents.

    Moonbat,

I also have a wordpress blog hosted by AT&T/Yahoo. I noticed yesterday that on the manage tab of the Web Hosting Control Panel, there is an “edit” link next to the upgrade option listed. There you can chose to have wordpress upgraded automatically or do it manually. I am set to upgrade automatically, but the web host control panel lists me as version 2.0.1. So I guess poorfish is right. Maybe if you chose the manual method you will be able to upgrade yourself.

I am considering this myself, to maybe solve a problem I am having with linking in the visual editor. But I’m also worried this will just create more problems, after reading some of the requests for help from people in the latest version.

Wish I could offer more help.
