In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Yoast plugin breaks websiteHi @daanw85,
Thanks for reaching out.
In order to troubleshoot the issue, could you please check the following steps?
1. Can you confirm your server has all the right requirements? This guide explains more: https://yoast.com/help/plugin-requirements/
2. Can you confirm that all the Yoast & non-Yoast plugins and themes are updated to the latest version? In most cases, these steps resolve this issue, but if the issue remains:
3. Can you check for any PHP errors related to Yoast SEO in your email or in the server error logs? You can find the errors yourself by enabling WP_DEBUG in your wp-config.php file. Once you have enabled it, reproduce the error, and check for any Yoast SEO errors in the debug.log file. You can also check with your web host to see if there’s a related error in your PHP error logs.
4. Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins except Polylang and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.
Please test this on your development or staging site if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.
If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts
If you feel uncomfortable doing this yourself or if this does not solve your issue, our Yoast SEO Premium plugin comes with one year of (technical) support.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Missing field “itemListElement” in BreadcrumbsHi @steheap,
Thanks for reaching out.
The error of missing field “itemListElement” is usually related to the breadcrumb schema output used for rich results. You may want to check if you’ve set the correct breadcrumb title for that post or page.
Can you please edit the post/page and navigate to the Yoast SEO metabox > within the SEO tab > click on the Advanced section > and add the title for the breadcrumb. You can also follow the steps at our Help Center here: https://yoast.com/help/the-breadcrumbs-title-setting/. Then check if the issue exists.
Once after adding the Breadcrumb title to the homepage, kindly clear the cache from caching plugins, the server, and CDN like Cloudflare. If you are not sure how to clear the cache from a plugin, please contact the plugin author. If you’d like to clear the cache from the server, please speak to your host provider.
If the issue persists after following the above steps, please follow the steps in this guide: https://yoast.com/help/google-search-console-breadcrumb-schema-report/.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Adding No Index to PDFSHi @tobski,
Thanks for reaching out. I understand that you want to noindex a PDF file.
I would like to let you know that individual media files, like PDF, cannot be “noindexed” using the Yoast SEO plugin. This is because, when you directly access these files, they are not served through WordPress.
To “noindex” PDF files, please look into using the “X-Robots-Tag for PDF”. These tags need to be added to your server configuration. As the tags vary depending on your server, you can check the article: https://yoast.com/x-robots-tag-play/ and identify the relevant tag you need. You can find the specific instructions by looking for “PDF” in the doc, and you will be headed to the correct section.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Yoast SEO Plugin Consecutive Sentences Don’t ExistHello Alice,
Thank you for sharing more details.
Upon checking the screenshot, we are not sure if you are using the Classic editor, can you please confirm if you are using the Classic editor or any other editor?
If you are using the Classic editor, we’d like you to perform a conflict check. This will help you narrow down the exact cause.
Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.
Please test this on your development or staging site if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.
