I m using this plugin on my site from past 3 months and its working like a charm for my site . I have activated and deactivated this plugin more then 5-10 times on running productive sites and never seen a single problem . I have used it with almost all popular plugin.
So you should not come to conclusion with just 1 failure . You should try it again with latest version of wordpress . It will work .
