In reply to: lost wildcard subdomain support, need helpThanks for your help. Regarding #3, do you happen to know of a plugin that is made for the purpose of redirecting the old non-blog/ permalinks to new blog/ ones?

In reply to: lost wildcard subdomain support, need helpHi Andrea, thanks so much for the response.
1. Do you mean if the multisite is directory, and I have the subdomain point to that directory?
2. I see. If I erase the old sites and then remake them with the same name, will that result in any complications?
3. Will it change my main blog’s permalinks? The gist of what I’ve read is that it will add blog/, is this the case?

In reply to: Changing Multisite from subdomains to subdirectoriesTurns out they really won’t be allowing wildcard subdomains, so I really have to make this change. Anyone know how?

In reply to: Problem After Changing DomainI see that now. I tried to find a list of the specific things that absolutely had to be changed in order for it to just basically work (and I’d sort out the details later – there were thousands of instances to change), but it wasn’t enough.
I’m not even half done changing all .ess to .coms but evidently I changed the right ones at this point.

In reply to: Problem After Changing DomainThanks. I found a few in the database that needed to be changed that previously I assumed were for images and other things I could change with a plugin.
Nevermind, I found the solution here:
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/blank-permalink-admin-page-after-changing-permalink-type?replies=25>>I renamed .htaccess and I get this error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STATIC, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or ‘}’ in _________ on line ___
And then gives a file in a plugin’s folder location in the first blank and a line number in the second. Disabling the plugin will just cause it to give the same error message but for a different plugin and file, and so on.
Does this mean anything? Should I disable all plugins?
The one in the wordpress installation’s folder? Could there be any side effects?

In reply to: ABSPATH problemIt’s there though, where it should be. Is it looking in the wrong place perhaps?

In reply to: trying to have two versions of the same wordpress blog/siteThanks, will look at that.

In reply to: trying to have two versions of the same wordpress blog/siteThe thing I neglected to do was change the $table_prefix to something other than “wp_”.
However I kept it as “wp_” for the reason that, if I changed it to “wp2_”, it would not be able to use the data imported from the English version blog (which is all “wp_”). Is there a way to change the table prefixes in the database?

In reply to: Blog posts and pages as ‘separate’ sitesOops. That last sentence of the first paragraph should end “make it clear which the user is in at any given time”.

In reply to: missing titlesThanks for the input. I was able to figure it out.
The Codex is indeed helpful and I am grateful for it. I may well learn WordPress beyound this project.
