Have you double checked your new url’s settings in your GoDaddy control panel to make sure they are set up right?

If your original url works fine it wouldn’t hurt to undo the wp-config.php changes, and use Search & Replace, but shouldn’t be necessary. This plugin will search out and replace data in your WordPress database, and it can change the url of your install. The wpconfig fix isn’t really the best, but it is a fix.

Have you updated your site to 4.5.1 yet? It was a maintenance release that is supposed to fix this along with some other bugs. So far it has worked for me. I had the same issues with 4.5.

You can change the name you display publicly under Users > Your Profile. Set your Nickname to whatever you want, and right below it is the “Display name publicly as” dropdown. Choose your nickname there. And, on all your posts, comments, etc. you’ll be shown as that name.

Moving WordPress in the Codex is what you want.

The hardest part, really, is exporting and importing your database. The rest is FTP, and a plugin.

Have you tried something like Velvet Blues or Search & Replace?
